I was looking at playing wood elves at the upcoming 750 tourny. It will be filled with hardened veteran players bringing out their nastiest lists. This is a first draft using what I have to try to make a shooty elite force.

Legolas
10 mirkwood rangers

Thranduil
8 Mirkwood guard with bows and wood elf spears

Rumil
6 Galadrhim with spears and shields
6 Galadrhim with Elven blades and shields

Balin
4 Grim hammers
6 Warriors of Erebor with shield

Points 749 Might 10 Models 45

The General plan is to have a combat block of the galadhrim that will be placed to meet the fastest threat on the table. The mirkwood rangers with legolas will try to hide and shoot as long as they can but when they need to get into close combat with all of those extra attacks and high fight value. The dwarves will be there to screen for the mirkwood guard that will be relatively static. When it comes down to combat there ill have the dwarves be the shield and the wood elves behind them supporting with spears. The grim hammers are their to hit the hardest targets. Hopefully the wood elves will help win the fight and the hammers do the killing. Having thranduil use his natures wrath at the right moment will hopefully turn the tide in a close combat fight over there. Balin is the cheapest hero I can get to bring the erebor dwarves but also comes with a big ability being able to reroll priority by spending one of his 3 will points. Having the ability to pick my fights at the end of the game will be HUGE.

I know this list has 2 big weaknesses, 1 being no banners and 2 being only 10 might. The banners can come from dropping grim hammers. I think this list has a major bonus that makes up for the lack of might though. Balins ability to reroll the priority roll using a will point. With 3 will points thats 3 chances to grab priority when I need it. Having that will really help as picking my fights very carefully is what will allow me to win the game. I thought about dropping one warrior of erebor with shield and adding another spear to the dwarves and giving all of my mirkwood guard wood elf spears.

Be ruthless with your C&C. This group of players will be pulling out very nasty lists and know what they are doing with it. I am not expecting to win I just dont want to be trampled.

Opinions anyone? Thanks guys
