Hey all.

I have been going down the swarm route with my nids for a while. I believe numbers count in both bodies and units and i wanted to get even more little bugs into my list but I was hampered with only 6 troops (believe it or not). I had been running 3 20 man devilgants unit, 2x 3 strangler warriors and a 25 unit of hormagaunts. I had wanted to use 4 15 bug devilgants but i couldn't bear to lose my hormagaunts and of course the warriors have to stay for synapse. I don't own and have never used a tervigon but i was thinking of having one just to get more little gribblies.

Imagine my surprise when I say the endless swarm formation. Basically its extra troops with without number back. Happy days I say to myself. This allows me to use almost all of my troop models and saves me having to get more crappy borergants for my tervigon tax. Double bonus. It also gives me more synapse which is never a bad thing.

So here is my first crack at an endless swarm list. I would like to hear what dakka thinks?

My thoughts are that it may still not have enough anti tank because we know how reliable HVC are and i have terrible luck killing vehicles. The Zoans help with this but can maybe be picked off to easily. Also the tyrants can get warp lance so that may help occasionally. I know if i get hit with a heavy flier army it will hurt but thankfully they are rare round here. But it has got some dakka in it those devilgants are almost priceless for the damage they do and are now a mainstay in my lists.

Any thoughts C+C are welcome

HVC is not seen as "optimal" on Winged Tyrants, max love goes to Brain leeches x2. One "issue" is paint your gaunts so you can tell the "Endless" ones from the "regular" ones....
Also it seems that the Correct version is 3x Horm Broods, And 3x Term Broods, so you can just drop one down to get that....

I recommend a Trygo, or trygon Prime, so you can Tunnel Assault the regerated swarms I have posted a couple of "consept" armies as "Endless Tunnel Assault" so you could look there for some inspiration...

Drop:

Mawloc 140
2 guards 100
2 hvcs 40
shrikes 130
Foot Tyrant 165

Pick up:
2 Tfexs with RCs 410
Tyranid Prime w/ Miasma Cannon, 150
1 set of BLW on tyrant, other weapons are stock for VSing and WLing

Combine the Troop Warriors (if legal) and stick the prime in them.

Pinecone77: HVC's aren't optimal generally speaking anyway but i do face a few Land Raiders in my meta and quite a lot of predator type tanks (13+AV). That's why i decided to go with the cannons instead of the BLW devourers. Gives me a bit of range, although i quite fancy the harpy for that job in the future.
Also I've heard of 3 different amounts of gant/gaunt units now 2/3, 3/3, 3/2, mine definitely says 3x gaunts and 2x gants. But like you said its already available to me either way.

Yes i do quite fancy using the trygon like that. I will see how it goes.

zakk: Unfortunately i don't own any t-fex's as of yet, I hope to soon. I'm not so sure about the RC's myself i fancy the flesh borer hives. But i can see why you would suggest the trade for the HVC's. I don't think primes are worth it but i have still to check them out. The warriors need the spread for synapse, i think big squads are inefficient once you go over 4/5. The shrikes are needed to back up the gargoyles for synapse. I also gave them the VC for side shots hopefully. But i do think they are necessary ( i didnt say great, but necessary) Also, WLing
