How long is it theoretically possible to be caught in the Warp? Does anyone know what's the longest someone's been trapped there? I'm trying to figure out whether pre-Heresey Night Lords, Alpha Legion, Emperor's Children could literally drop out of the sky in the 41st millenia.

Time is something that the Warp does funny things with. Never mind pre-heresy legions turning up in the 41st millennium, post-heresy legions could turn up in the 31st!

The Kasrkin were just men. It made their actions all the more astonishing. Six white blurs, they fell upon the cultists, lasguns barking at close range. They wasted no shots. One shot, one kill. - Eisenhorn: Malleus |

for example Arghal Tal and his chapter was stuck in the warp for around 8 months eventually eating everyone but in reality lorgar watched them enter and then come back a second later their ship pulverised and listing.
its like a bubble time moves however it fancies inside the bubble but outside it is regular old time

You got guys like Abbaddon that been there since the Heresy. And you have Fallen Angels, according to the new codex, still popping up that think Caliban just fell moments ago.

Imperial Fists 1st company master was stuck 1000 years but came out un tainted and aged but a few years. The warp is different than the material universe as far as time goes.

If I remember correctly, the 13th Company of the Space Wolves is still stuck in the Warp after going in some time soon after the Heresy.
