I'm curious how effective people think this would be. Tigurius, Grav/Missile Centurions, in a Melta/Assault Cannon Stormraven. It's really expensive, (A little above 600 points,) but you get a hugely powerful deathstar, and a powerful flier brings them into combat range too.
With Tigurius, the squad can reliably get rerolls to hit (On top of the pre-existing rerolls to wound,) and ideally a 4++ invuln and Ignores Cover, (Though either/or is fine by me.) The only problem I can see is that if they want to fight on Turn 2, they will only get the twin-linked buff, (From Tigurius's Warlord Trait), not the others, and if you wait to get all the buffs then you're not bringing your firepower to bear until turn 3. Also, you're placing the Centurions in a position to be tarpitted, if anything comes too close. I play my Marines alongside with Space Wolves, though, so Tarpitting shouldn't be a problem since my Wolves will be there to fight off anything that tries to get them stuck in, (Or even bubblewrap them).
But, against Tyranids, Space Marines and variants, certain Eldar and Tau, Chaos Space Marines, or anything else, this seems like a devastating amount of firepower that can easily get to its target.

What if the Raven gets intercepted, and goes down? All it takes is a single lucky quad-gun shot.

8,000 pts and counting
1,000 points, now painting.

I think I'd prefer to roll for gate of infinity on Tigurius. I'm always scared after loosing units in a Storm Rave that was brought down while zooming. Once you come in from reserve you can't put up the 4++ so you are loosing centurions to instant death, and that stinks. Only units I trust in a zooming raven are hammernators.

If there's a target within 48" of my board edge, (Entirely likely on most board types,) I can drop them out of the Stormraven with the grav-chute before Interceptor shots are fired, assuming the enemy has a supply of Interceptor weapons. They still have no Invuln for a turn, but they'd be on the ground and un-explodable.

They themselves can be interceptored too though

How many AP2 S10 Interceptor weapons are there? Heck, how many AP2 Interceptor weapons are there, period? I can probably drop them with cover between them and the Interceptor shots too, if I have too.

Throw in Sevrin Loth for some guaranteed GoI incase the Raven goes down.

Another problem is it's a death star unit that if you roll bad, doesn't come in til turn 4.

Yes, Tigirius helps mitigate that a lot, but if you roll less than 3 twice in a row on turn 2, you've got 600+ points in reserves not helping your army for two whole turns. Technically it's statistically more likely than losing a solider to Gets Hot! in any giving shooting attack or losing a dude to Dangerous Terrain.

TIgirius gets 6 chances to obtain forewarning so why bother at all with a transport?. All that's going to do is deny Tigirius the ability to cast blessings until the turn after he comes in from reserves.

With grav you could main white scars, ally with Tigirius, and attach Khan to the unit to give grav centurions scout.

With LC/ML you could make them imperial fists for tank hunter and ally with Tigirius for prescience, forewarning, misfortune, and perfect timing.

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods…illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is, but they’ll never know this. Not until it’s too late.

I've found the best way to protect Centurions is to have O'Vesa stand in front and tank wounds. Other than that, place them in a Bastion with Escape Hatch.
