Okay guys, so I'd basically like some input on what you think of the fluff for my Imperial Guard unit.
Connough
Planet Characteristics
Connough is the fourth (of five) planets in the Iren System. It holds a breathable atmosphere, with average temperatures of 20°C and surface gravity of 1.05G. Two major land masses (Nios and Luid) are present on the planet which are surrounded by turbulent oceans. These land masses are mostly agricultural land, but there also high mountains and thick forests.
History
Connough was one of the first planets colonised by mankind during its initial exploits into the universe. Being an Earth-like planet not far from Terra, astronomers predicted that it would be one of the best planets to be used as a food source for the new fledgling empire. When warp storms started plaguing the galaxy, the people of Connough lost contact with the rest of their people and reverted to a savage state. When the Emperor began his Great Crusade, Connough’s society had reached a high technological status, but its people had remained in a feudal class–like system. The people of Nios (the larger of the two landmasses) had conquered the people of Luid, and so the capital of the planet (Linden) was based in the center of Nios. When Imperial forces arrived at the planet, it became fully compliant immediately.
However, the people of Luid and Nios never settled their differences. Constant warfare between the two continents has been the norm for millennia (although both continents will put aside their differences for the God-Emperor when necessary). The Planetary Governor is based in Linden, and holds the title of King of Luid and Nios, Defender of Connough. However, the people of Luid reject his title (although respecting his position as governor) and declare themselves to have their own King.
Several knightly orders exist on the planet and engage in festivities, tournaments and other shows of honour. Usually wearing tabards displaying which order they come from and riding on stylised bikes, the knightly orders joust each other for fame and glory.
So thats a bit of back story about where they're from.
The Devil's Own
Raised at the beginning of the Emperor's Great Crusade, the 92nd Devil's Own was originally part of the Imperial Army and attached to the 4th Expedition Fleet (Lion El'Jonson's fleet). They gained great fame and honour for the backwater that is Connough. With numbers greatly diminished following the Great Heresy, the Devil's Own slowly rebuilt. With the launch of Abaddon's Dark Crusades, they were charged with helping the defense of the Cadian Gate (due to the Regiment's home planet being close to the area). Due to this, the regiment went through a period of reform. Their battle uniform became a dress uniform and they adopted the battledress and armor that the Cadian forces were using. Now, in the 41st Millennium, the Devil's Own still continues to exist maintaining the Regimental customs and unique rank structure. Every Trooper (or Ranger as they are called in the unit) hails from Connough. Because of their length of service and distinguished battle honours, they are considered an elite, veteran unit. Their numbers have been reduced to one company with it being populated with only the best soldiers Connough can produce.
Led today by Coirnal Roibard Scot, they continue to bring honour home to Connough and the Imperium.
Allies
The Devil's Own have also made several valuble allies throughout their millenia of service. Chief among them are the 4th Connough Dragoons (known affectionately as the 'Mounted Micks'), an armor regiment who provide support when neccessary. They also maintain close ties with a special forces unit (seen as Karskin by other Cadian forces although they are not) known as 21st C Specials who provide support on specialist missions.
