Wondering about the viability of taking a slaanesh Sorcerer on a mount accompanied by two spawn for damage soak.
Any idea how to load out the wargear on them?

A bike MAY be a better choice for the hard T5, but the spawn will give majority T5 so your fine unless you get into a challenge or instagibbing. The first thing for the loadout is more spawn, like a full unit. The steed is good for the extra attack and speed, but I doubt you want to outflank, so either or. If you don't take the steed you can go unmarked and roll 3 times on a book discipline instead of a roll on the slannesh diciplines(which are pretty good).
I would go mastery level 3 and then roll triple telepathy or biomancy. Trying for invisibility, endurance, iron arm. Enfeeble, hallucination, psychic shriek, and puppet master are also great options. Sigil of corruption if you can afford, aura of dark glory for cheap. If you go mastery level 3 a spell familiar is also important. A gift of mutation is ok if you can spare points, and melta bombs are never wasted on something that fast.

Quick note. This is for a slaanesh/ emp childrens fluffy list.
Any reason to have burning brand on the sorc? Or should I be concerned with just using her psych powers?

Steed works well, and I take it your marking the spawn too? Slannesh probably has the best chaos powers, and the primaris is fairly reliable.
I don't think the burning brand is worth it if your ML 3. You are probably going to end up with a decent psychic shooting attack, and even then you will probably want the unit in combat, meaning running over shooting.

I second no BBQ gun on the Sorc; you're almost guaranteed to roll a witchfire at ML3. Everything Dr. Serling has said is truth, give or take.
