Sooooo,

Our 40K group is going to try Kill Team from the Battle Missions book.
My meta is that I will be playing Blood Angels or Space Wolves.
There is a chance I will play Necrons as well if that player shows up.

I need limited anti tank because at 55 pts a Razor back would be brutal to a 200 pt Necron army with no crypteks.
Considering that for 0.0 additional points, a Razor back could take the special rule 'torrent' and have a deny cover auto hit template with a 18" range.
So, it should be very important to me to be capable of killing a Razorback first turn and at 24"

Obviously, AP3 would be important.

Here are my draft lists:

Kill Team 1:
5x Immortals - Tesla
1x Wraith - Whip Coil (Specialist - Smash)
1x Destroyer (Specialist - Ignores Cover) (Leader)
1x Tomb Blade - Particle Beamer (Specialist - Barrage)

Kill Team 2:
5x Immortals - Tesla
1x Wraith (Specialist - It Will Not Die)
1x heavy destroyer (specialist - FNP) (Leader)
1x Tomb Blade (Specialist - Preferred Enemy) - Twinlinked Tesla

Kill Team 3: ----Problem no real anti-tank --------
5x Deathmarks
5x Warriors
1x Destroyer (Specialist - Ignores Cover) (Leader)

Kill Team 4:
5x Immortals
2x Destroyer - (Specialist - Armour Bane / Specialist - Ignores Cover) (Leader)
1x Wraith - Smash

Ok, I am looking for some feedback.
What have I missed?

You guys aren't utilizing the 6E rules apparently. Seems to be really common around here lately. You all ought to download them as the 6 mission types for it are all really fun, and the new rules make the overall game experience fairly balanced all things considered.

1: Vehicles can't be specialists. No need to worry about special rules on the Razorback. Still plenty to worry about with a Razorback as TL-heavy bolters are going to do work against whatever it targets, but it's still only killing one dude a turn at best.

2: No specialist grants Torrent. For that matter, nothing grants Armourbane. Best you're getting as rules for anti-armor is rending (melee only), haywire (melee only) and Tank Hunter (shooting only.) All three of those are on the Weapon Specialist table, as well, so basically only one guy gets dedicated USRs to making it better against vehicles.

3: No Smash. No Torrent. No Barrage. Torrent and Barrage isn't a USR anyway. It's a shooting type.

4: Leaders can't be your specialists. There's a 1 in 6 chance they get to be a specialist you haven't already chosen from, as it's one of the Leader traits. Still, can't really plan on that one so I would recommend against it. Besides, the Leader is a kill point in every mission so unless he's got a really long range weapon, keeping him out of line of sight is pretty important.

5: You can't stack specialists onto one guy. Has to be 3 different dudes.

6: Your slots are 0-2 Troop, 0-1 Elite, 0-1 fast attack. All your lists mixing destroyers, wraiths and tomb blades are illegal therefore.

So, I can't really comment on any of your lists. You guys are playing house rules, so it's hard for me to accurately judge against what other people can bring.

What bizarre version of Kill Teams are you guys playing that lets you take 3 separate Fast Attack units?

The rules appear to come from the Battle Missions book pages 90 and 91.
I took a picture of each page so I could read through the rules.

This book indicates 0-1 Elites / 0-2 Troops / 0-1 Fast Attack.
So as you say, most of my lists are invalid as I lost sight of that.

The special missions book indicates that any USR from the BRB can be used.
So I went to the 'Special Rules' section of the 6e BRB which starts on Page 32 and ends on Page 43.
In this section, I find the barrage, armourbane, torrent etc. specifically defined in the special rules section of the BRB.
If BRB special rules are not the USRs then where are the USRs in the BRB?
I don't see another listing which subsets the 'special rules' into a shorter list of 'Universal Special Rules'.

So, its good to note that vehicles can't be specialist.
The mission book does say 'Specialist Trooper' in the title of the paragraph but otherwise simply indicates 'models'.
Thanks for pointing that out.

Do RB or Rhino count towards the leadership check model count?

Actually, on the two pages I have, there was no information about the leader at all.
So I assumed that you just picked a model.

Considering everything said, the Battle Missions book likely has more than just 2 pages to describe the kill team mission.
I will ask about additional pages.
Thanks for the help.

While you're at it, ask them why you're not playing the most current up to date version of the Kill Teams rules?

The stuff from Battle Mission is outdated. Not that you can't play it anymore, just that it's not the most current updated rules of Kill Team.

$12 bucks for what is my personal favorite game mode seems about right to me. I think the interactive iPad edition is $16, which if you've got one is pretty cool.

Changes they made is minimum you have to have 4 non-vehicle models. One is leader, other 3 are specialists. There's 5 specialists. Close combat, weapon, dirty fighting, indomitable and guerilla. Each one of those has a list of USRs, and you get to pick one. So, can't have both a Relentless and a Feel No Pain specialist because both of them are on in the Indomitable tree.

I'd let whoever is in charge of it know there are new 6E Kill Team rules available on Black Library, He might already know, but it's worth pointing out. There are just too many situations I think where choosing from any last USR in a 6E world is pretty dumb. Smash being a good example. If you guys are indeed just going on the old rules, giving that to a wraith is pretty slowed OP.
