House of Cards fan here, if you don't watch it you wont get any of what i'm saying.

Major disappointment for me. I really hate how they've destroyed all the likable characters. Zoe, her reporter friend, the journalist turned hacker. The only pure person is killed off, her friends sell out in one case a plea deal and the other lies to get immunity. I don't mind the bad guys winning, in fact I demand it happen occasionally, but I don't like the theme that seems presented, that everyone sells out, the futility of trying to stand for something, I hate that theme. I wouldn't have minded if the journalist turned hacker was murdered but still got his message out even if its just on some conspiracy site and died a pure unrepentant soldier rather than accepting a 20 year prison plea deal, again I don't mind the bad guys winning, I think no matter how good the show is I'm just tired of the nihilistic message.

That said, I actually enjoyed the season quite a bit. I think the characters you mentioned deserved what they got, for the most part.

I don't hate FU I hate the people who enable hi who don't man up and show him his limits. If the hacker wanted a platform he should have committed a petty crime against underwood and then used it as a public forum, the prostitute is pretty pathetic too, going to church but not realizing that the only redemption she will ever get is testifying against underwood. The worst person on the show by far is the FBI agent, sadistic, needs to demean others, not because he needs to get the job done but because of a power trip, he's everything people don't like about cops.

A mans only as good as his enemies, and they've done away with all the decent enemies underwood has to face.

It's all right as a programme, but I prefer the original.
Francis Urquhart is far nastier and far more devious than Frank Underwood.

The problem is the other characters have surpassed FU, I mean if anyone flat out scares its underwoods wife not underwood.
