Hello you all

I pretty much suck at making creative lists so I usually tend to minmax effective units, adding some flavor to them as bonus (for example weirdboy for random teleports or waaghs).

Just as another example, I loved to run my orkboy trukk spam list in 5th ed. which was basically 6 trukks full of boyz with a nob to lead them (pk / pole) and a mek or two with force fields (dat cover) as HQ.

I own a truckload of ork models so making variable lists should't be an issue, I just lack the strategic mind to make them.

For my newest idea, I came to ask for help from veterans of dakkadakka. List is basically a shooty ork list.

Core of this list would be 9 big gunz (kannons I guess), 45 lootas (FoC restricts more), most likely meks with force fields as HQ and fill troop slots with shootaboyz in trukks.

So basically an ork gunline? I noticed that melee armies tend to get their asses handed in 6th ed. and I ain't changing orks for anything so might as well try to play like imperial guard with the exception of having green men behind guns.

Could this work? What should I keep in mind? Anything to add or change? How to play such list, my guess is 100% basecamp (preferably in cover) and fling my trukks full speed towards enemies. Let them shootas wound some.

Honestly I think units of 15 lootas are too big. I'd also consider swapping kannons, which are ok, for Lobbas, which are amazing.

Finally, a major bonus would be to footslog your boyz in massive blobs of 30. Take three big shootas and no nob leader. Camp and dakkadakka

If you have wagonz - use them instead of trucks. And you got a decent list.

And i'd not rely on a full gunline. It's not bad to have lootas and lobbas/kannons behind aegis on your pard of a board. Grots manning a quadgun. Maybe sag mek or boomgun looted wagon if you go nuts. I've even tried grots in imperial bastion and they were oki. But shootaboyz...they're shooty but they have limited range. Don't expect them to outshoot any 'real' shooty army if they sit in your deployment zone. They must go offensive. Or at least pushing a bit. To make your opponent busy for the whole game. Cause if you loose the grasp - you'll loose the game.

Tl:dr Orkse's gunline still requires you to go offensive.
