hey dakka,

Couple of questions regarding blessings and witchfires:

1) May battle focus be used in the same shooting phase as a witchfire?
- I would think yes as it's assault weapon. as long as the entire unit has battle focus special rule.

2) In regards to a Iyanden Spiritseer's "Voice of Twilight", does this blessing "emanate" 12'' from the seer at all times after it is cast? Or does it only affect wraith units that are within 12" of the seer when it is cast at the beginning of his movement phase?

thanks for the read.

1) Witchfires are psychic shooting attacks that count as firing assault weapons, just with the addition of manifesting the power, expending the warp charge point, perils, etc. So yea, battle focus is legal afterwards. Witchfires are pg 69 in BRB.

2) I'm not sure exactly as I don't know the full rule entry, but I would imagine to be only applicable in a certain phase it has to say so in the rule, specifically. Otherwise, blessings generally last until the next turn (meaning they persist in movement, shooting, and assault). Blessings are Pg 68 in BRB.

Hope that helps!

I play 2 as it effects the units within 12 inches when it was cast. So if a unit was in 12 but then leaves it still has it, but if a unit was outside of 12 then moved to be inside they wouldn't have it.

Voice of Twilight is a Blessing that is automatically targeting all eligible wraith units within 12" of the caster. This has interesting side effects when you don't have LOS to one of these units, but aside from that nuisance there is nothing different from other, single target blessings.
