Hey all, Im new here so sorry if i do anything wrong but, at my local store we are holding a 750 40k tourney in april. I play marines and would like to bring a solid list. Our tourney has a couple special rules i will address now, no fliers and no 2+ saves. I know i will be fighting marine bikes,and Orks. For my list i was thinking of a couple units to bring such as Tigurius and stern guard. Also, special game types we are not informed of until later when the tourney comes up, last year some i can remember were zombie apocalypse, where half of your infantry became plaguezombies, and straight up kill points. If you have any ideas for lists or strong units please leave them below. Thank you.

Well no Fliers and no 2+ saves makes things very interesting indeed. It means you will not see common units like Riptides! (good riddance) I would try to take as many Marines in Rhinos as you can. Predator Destructors and Whirlwinds are also very good in low-point games. I don't have my codex with me (points are from memory; I believe them to be correct), but something like this should work very well: HQ Librarian 65 -Telepathy or Telekenisis (whichever one has Psychic Shriek as the Primaris power... I forget) Elites 5 Sternguard Veterans 175 -5 Combi-Meltas, Rhino Troops 10 Tactical Marines 210 -Plasmagun, Combi-Plasma, Multi-Melta, Rhino 10 Tactical Marines 215 -Plasmagun, Combi-Plasma, Missile Launcher, Rhino Heavy Support Predator 85 -Autocannon, Heavy Bolter Sponsons 750

I would consider splitting the squad with the Missile Launcher into two combat squads - one squad on foot with the Missile Launcher, and the other in the Rhino with the Sergeant and Plasmagun. This gives you a scoring unit that can stay on an objective in your deployment zone, while also shooting the Missile Launcher every turn.
The general strategy is fairly simple. The Librarian rides with the Sternguard Veterans in their Rhino. I would consider giving the Sternguard 3 Combi-Plasmas and 2 Combi-Meltas instead of 5 Combi-Meltas. This is your main offensive squad and it can take down a wide variety of targets. Dont forget about their special ammunition!
The two Tactical Squads should advance alongside the Sternguard in their Rhinos. Ideally you would have 2-3 of your squads pop out in the same turn to avoid presenting infantry targets to your opponent early on. The Multi-Melta won't be fired too often, but you may encounter a Battle Wagon or a Land Raider - It is best to be prepared.
Psychic Shriek is really good against units with Ld7 or 8. It will greatly improve the damage output of the Sternguard. I would give the Librarian a Force Sword over a Force Axe, as you will not be encountering 2+ saves. A Force Mace would be a good choice against Orks.
The Predator acts as a "clean-up" unit and should probably be fired last. It can inflict a surprising amount of wounds in a single shooting phase and should be used to finish off units weakened by your Marines.

If you have a list of your models for me, I can make you several lists with different chapter tactics.
I saw you were in need of 750.
I was thinking pure Shooty, cuz that's fun at 750
Take red Scorpion chapter tactics, your tacos can take nartheciums for free so they have a 3+ armours save! and a 5 plus fnp
At 750, I don't think you wanna spend more then one fifty on your hq, so let's say

20 tacs is just awesome to field on a 5+fnp, cuz you prob won't play that big a field.plasmas and Combi flamers just for anti infantry
Devastator squad and 4x s9 ap2 one of which is bs5(as long as Serg is alive and not shooting (still make him die first)) it will kill a land raider or monolith no problem, also any hq will be dead.
The Thunderfire Cannon is literally hell in a shell. Just any infantry, those bikes? Wound em on 3+ with the s6 round, gaunts s4 ap5 ignore cover, you're killing them like no ones business

There is no reason to take UM Chaoter Tactics unless you want a SC. Tigurius is gravy for Divination, but aside from him you're better off with a different chapter.
Lack of 2+ Armor means that Sternguard will kick unholy ass. Their weapons will pen everything on the board.
