If any of you spend time on Bolter & Chainsword, you might remember me.

Technically speaking, I don't actually play 40k as of yet, but I'm working on it.

I've been a fan of the franchise since 2nd Grade, when I was introduced to it by a fellow student and his horrible fan-fiction. I have no knowledge of what became of him, but based on the fact that his parents were people who had no problem with their eight year old being into Warhammer 40,000, my guess is that he became a serial killer.

In case you couldn't tell, that was supposed to be a joke. Clarifying that might seem patronizing, but this is the Internet people.

If I did play Warhammer 40k, I would have five armies:

The Iron Dragons: A DIY Space Marine Chapter anyone who's on Bolter & Chainsword would be familiar with. For the rest of you, it's an Imperial Fists Successor Chapter who's schtick is "Ambiguously Slavic with a serious Bolter fetish, and a paint scheme stolen from the San Francisco Giants."

The Death Leopards: A DIY Chaos Space Marine Warband, unlike the played serious Iron Dragons the Death Leopards are a self-aware joke joyfully embracing everything about the 80s that make us cringe. Whenever possible, Noise Marine weapons would be custom models designed to look like musical instruments, because that is the way they should look.

The Imperial Guard: One of my more recent armies, I don't have a name for it just yet, but I do have an idea for the army itself. A fully mechanized army, likely from a Hive World, every squad of hapless Guardsmen would have their very own Chimera Troop Transport, with plenty of Leman Russes and self-propelled artillery to help them out.

A Necron Dynasty: Even less fleshed-out then the Imperial Guard army, I have the most basic of plot points thought up for the fluff. Also, I consider the NuCrons to be the only thing Matt Ward ever did right. I've even thought up a perfectly plausible Watsonian explanation for the contradictory fluff!

And finally, the last one on the list. Actually the first army I thought up, I've been building their canon in my head for quite some time now. Saving the best, and most forum-appropriate, for last, its...

The Bloody Skull Klan: A minor Ork Klan/WAAAGH!!! I invented years ago; If I had to be an Ork I'd want to be one of these. The result of an Ork force comprised entirely of Blood Axe and Deffskull boyz being stranded on a planet for centuries, eventually their two spore strains merged into one single lineage. Combining the two traits of their parent blood(mold?)lines, the Bloody Skulls are known as the sneakiest, most treacherous, untrustworthy, two-timing, backstabbing bunch of gitz in the galaxy. Naturally, they take great pride in this and strive to maintain their reputation wherever they go. They also strive to prevent word getting out of their deepest, darkest secret, a hidden shame so great that, should it ever become known to any other Ork, would utterly destroy their hard-earned reputation.

I'm also working on an idea for a 40k video game. Again, anyone also on B&C would know what I'm talking about.

Lately, B&C traffic is lower then usual, none of my threads there are getting any replies anymore, and the fact that it's a human-only website has prevented me from building on the basics for my Ork and Necron armies, so I decided to come here and inflict myself on you guys instead. You're welcome!

Welcome to Dakka, Lord-Captain Cepinari.

So what are you waiting for? Get that bloody skull clan together and get to playing some 40k.

I strongly recommend beginning with the Orks, especially since you have an interest in Deffskullz (my clan of choice.)

It is way too fun converting, kit bashing, and otherwise orkifying a bunch of ork vehicles. They are also by far the most hilarious faction to play.

So welcome, and I hope to follow your armies' progress on the painting and modeling forums.

Thanks for the welcome, sadly I am still working on getting space set up for modeling, and even then I'm planning on starting with the Iron Dragons, on the grounds that it's fewer overpriced pieces of plastic to purchase, and I want some modeling experience under my belt before I go off the rails and kitbash my own things.

I don't suppose you know the sub-forum for discussing Fluff for DIY armies? My guess is it's either 40k Background, 40k General Discussion, or Dakka Fiction.

Welcome to Dakka! You should probably put it in Background if it's fluff, just saying.

First off: Welcome! Here's hoping you enjoy your stay at Dakka. Regarding your fluff, my recommendation would be that if it's fan-fic your discussing, throw it in Dakka Fiction as you're more likely to get a constructive response there. However, if it's questions, theories or general ramblings about accepted 'Official' GW fluff (whether current or past) then I'd stick that in 40K Background as you'll tend to get more of an in-depth answer there (It's also great for a bit of a debate, especially when the inevitable 'ethics', 'morals' or 'inequality' topics about the Imperium come up ).

Once again, Welcome to Dakka.

It's not FanFic per se, it's discussing the fluff for my made up Chapter, Warband, Regiment, Dynasty, and Klan.

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka

@Lord-Captain Cepinari - If its a DIY Chapter/Klan/Regiment etc. the fluff refers to, even if it's a discussion about it, it's probably still fan fiction as it's not officially ratified by GW. Personally, I'd put it in Dakka Fiction, as you'll still get a decent discussion going, but it's completely up to you - I was just offering some advice Better yet, why don't you start off a blog as that way you have the complete freedom to dictate what you put where, be it fluff, questions, pictures or just general off topic chat.
