Got a tournament coming up soon, writing up a space wolf list for a friend. What do you think?

HQ:
Rune Priest /w Living Lightning and Jaws of the World Wolf 100

Troops:
10 Grey Hunters /w 2 Plasma guns 160
Drop Pod 35

5 Grey Hunters /w Melta 80
Razorback /w Las-plas 75

Heavy Support:
6 Long Fangs /w 5 Missile Launchers 140

Grand Total: 590

Leaves me 10 points to spend, not sure on what. General Idea is to drop the rune priest and 10 hunters in the drop pod. Using Jaws on big things like Riptides, Carnifexes, etc. the squad just rapid fires at shiz. Razorback moves up the board. Gives some AP 2 Back up from it's turret and allows the melta to get close. Long fangs supply support from cover.

What improvements can be made? What would you take?

The priest cannot join the Grey Hunters in the pod because you are at max capacity.

I make bad decisions and think they are good.

Damn, didn't realise that, what would you suggest I do?

You can't put 10 grey hunters and the rune priest in a pod. SW pods hold 10 so you have to cut a grey hunter to fit the rune priest in the pod but that changes a lot of how your list works.

I personally thinking running one drop pod and one razorback at 600 points is not enough threat to scare anyone and I would change the list anyway.

Rune Priest, LL, JotWW

5 grey hunters, plasma gun, drop pod

5 grey hunters, drop pod

3 long fangs, two missile launchers

5 wolf guard, one with combi plasma for the GH pod, one in Terminator armor with a Cyclone Missile Launcher to join the Long Fangs and 3 with combi meltas in a pod

This list can decimate 600 pt level deathstars and monstrous creatures by dropping three meltas and then 2 plasmas and JotWW into the same unit. For AV lists, you can crack the shell and then blend the insides. You can destroy castles if they don't have serious interceptor power. And for hordes you have LL, bolter fire, close combat and 4 frag missiles. And then when the smoke clears on a later turn you can bring in your third pod with the naked GH squad to claim an objective anywhere on the board.

It is human nature to seek culpability in a time of tragedy. It is a sign of strength to cry out against fate, rather than to bow one's head and succumb.

Bocatt's list looks spot on the only change I would do is give the naked hunters the free flamer.

Very interesting indeed, Feels pretty elite. I don't know how much of that I actually have, will have to look into it. I'm not sure about the 2 drop pods, but over all seems pretty good

3* pods. The combi melta wolf guard have one that way you can bring in two on turn 1 and one a later turn.

If there's one thing SW does well, it's alpha strike. Take advantage of that.

Oh yeah, the free flamer might be a good idea too. I never use them unless I'm playing my BA so I kind of forget about them in SW lists.

Didn't realise the third pod, that makes it feel so much better!

Your best off with rune priest with div with long fangs, two squads of 10 GH with standard and two melt guns, for 200points each!

Or for 300 points a wolf priest with combie plasma a wolf guard with combie plasma and 8 GH one plasma gun and a standard.

Then 200 points on 10gh and 2 melt guns and a wolf standard.

Then one drop pod with 3 wolf guard and a combie plasma.
