I was wondering how this kinda works as Tau can call upon other units for overwatch once a game. Can they still do that when they have a Dirge Caster in their face and the second unit is outside of its 6" bubble.

Well, according to Supporting Fire, the other units are considered targets of the charge as well, so unless they are also within 6" of the Dirge Caster, they should still be able to fire.

Supporting fire is not once per game and a unit more than 6" from a dirge caster can ovewatch...

The trick is to ram a rhino right up beside the bunched units before you assault.

Also, Supporting Fire is more than once a game.
