Subject: Crimson Slaughter! 1500, C&C to pieces!

Working within the flavour of Crimson Slaughter, here are 1500pts of murdery-goodness!
Let's pretend for a second I'm building this list already knowing possessed are overpriced.
There's a new codex with new rules and toys, and I want to try them out.
HQ - Chaos Lord, Daemonheart, Prophet of the Voices, Slaughterer's Horns, Blade of the Relentless, Melta Bombs
Sorcerer, +2 ML, Balestar of Mannon, Force Axe/Sword, Melta Bombs
Troops - 11 Cultists
9 Possessed, MoN, Rhino w/Dirge
9 Possessed, MoT, Rhino w/Dirge
10 Possessed, MoS, Rhino w/Dirge
Heavy Support - Maulerfiend w/Magma
Maulerfiend w/Magma
Lord is running 2+, AP3 and better, IWND, Fleet, FC, HoW, Rage, Daemon, and Possessed d3.
Which Force Weapon to take? Axe, to shore up my weakness vs AP2? Or Sword, to avoid Unweildy? Sorcerer rolls on Divination for starters then bounces over to Biomancy/Telepathy as needed.
Didn't take a Heldrake because the Possessed are already dedicated anti-infantry.
Possessed are marked up to increase survivability.
Yes, I've got too many points invested in the possessed with all their marks on top of their price. Dropping the marks nets me 111pts.
What could that net of use in a list like this?
Please C&C the list remembering I'm trying to stay within the feel and ruleset of Crimson Slaughter!

So when a flier shows up you just....lose? Especially if they have multiple fliers. The Heldrake is also the only reliable anti air chaos has. So you still need them or at the very least a quad gun.
You already know the list is "bad". But I still say you have too many possessed and need to get some guns in there. At least a Predator tank or some Oblits. The possessed you do have, well MoN is as always the only reliable Mark. Ditch any others imho. Maybe keep Tzen if you feel really lucky.
Actually MoS might be useful if you take a massive horde of Possessed in the same unit and give them an Icon of Excess, especially fun if you Mark the Lord to Slaaenesh to share that wonderful Feel No Pain if he joins the unit. What amounts to 2 5++ saves per possessed could be pretty fierce. But dont know if MoN Toughness bonus maths out to being better/the same, just another idea to help the possessed.

Slaughterer's Horns aren't really worth it if you've already got all that other stuff, IMHO. Especially if you're going to be jumping out of a Rhino to then assault the next round.
And as fluffy as Possessed as troops is, only one squad is really necessary. You're better off filling the other the other slots with chaos marines or Cultists. Cultists with Fear are actually pretty useful.

I figured Slaughterer's Horns were good due to low price, and the extra attacks helping the Lord get those important kills to buff the Relentless Sword.
Never thought of Cultists with fear... interesting. Dropping 2 possessed squads, and replacing them with:
10x CSM, 2x Meltagun, Rhino w/Dirge - 200
9x CSM, Flamer, Rhino w/Dirge - 172
saves me ~200pts, maybe fit in a couple of Oblits, add another larger unit of cultists.
Think that's actually any better? Or would you recommend Marking up the Lord and bringing in Plagues or something similar?
And Deadza, what kind of Pred would you use instead of/with Oblits?
I disagree that MoN is the only reliable mark, but that's personal preference/experience. Been looking at MoS w/IoE, but that could get messy expensive. Thought about outflanking with a Lord on Steed, but yeah. I'll work on the MoN vs MoS/IoE math.
As for fliers, CSM loses vs fliers anyway. A couple S7 Vector strikes, IF you enter play AFTER their fliers, doesn't cut it. Not to mention there are a few Storm Ravens in my meta, and those crush Heldrake face.

Wait for those Helbrute formations. They make me glad I went and collected three of the buggers.
I'm sure they'll still suck, but if you field a Helbrute Murder pack and your opponent doesn't, you win on principle
