Hello all, first post here! I'm getting back into the hobby after a long break and my new IG army will be my first 'real' foray into painting. I was hoping to get suggestions on what Citadel colors would match the image below:

I've spent some time looking, but there are so many similar shades, I was hoping to get some expert help. If you think a particular Vallejo color would be better, that helps too.

The Citadel range is very limited in these kinds of tones but I will make a try to match.

The brown seems to be pretty close to XV-88.

The green seems to be pretty close to Castellan Green

The yellow could be Dorn Yellow with a hint of white blended into it to get it a bit lighter.

Does this help any?

If you want to get outside of GW's range, the brown looks like Burnt Umber, it's a standard colour in a lot of ranges.

The yellow, I'd maybe try Averland Sunset.

Green, not really sure, nothing is jumping out in my mind. I think Castellan Green is a bit too brown, Goblin Green is a bit too light and/or pale (not sure what replaced Goblin Green) and Snot Green (again, not sure what replaced it) is too pure/bright of a green.

i don't think I have any greens in my collection that really matches that one. If you mixed a Goblin Green with a small amount of Snot (I use Iosan from P3, it's very similar to Snot) and then a bit of dark green just to darken it a bit, I think you'll get something close... however you can probably find a match in a paint range somewhere. I recommend going to a hobby shop and looking at the paints on the shelf, online colour swatches are terrible for paint matching (just ask the 10 or so greys I bought before I finally found one I like!).

Echo some of the other comments above. The Vallejo colors would be Middlestone, Reflective Green, and Chocolate Brown. At a minimum, pick up one of each bottle from the Vallejo rack, take them over to the GW rack, and compare color to color.

Actually, are those standard German WW2 colours?

If so, you're probably looking at something like this:

http://modelingmadness.com/review/misc/vehicles/germany/stewjagdp.htm

"dark yellow (RAL 7028) base coat with dark olive green (RAL 6003) and red brown (RAL 8017)".

Be warned, Vallejo make "matches" for a lot of WW2 military colours that are often TERRIBLE matches. I bought Vallejo model air colours for some RLM colours (the colours the Luftwaffe used) and they were miles off, ended up buying some Gunze ones instead. Though you might have better luck, lol.

According to the chart posted by GW :

Goblin green: warboss green
Snot green: warpstone glow
