Subject: Nurgle Kill Team - small numbers

Inspired by a tactics article I've just read on chaos kill team I decided to write one with some of the hints. I need some help with specialist though, let me know what you think.
4 x plague marines with 2 x plasma gun
1 x plague champion with lightning claw
1 x rhino
I figure giving one plasma gun preferred enemy is pretty safe. What to do with the other 2 is beyond me. I'm thinking maybe haywire on one... Automatically Appended Next Post: Probably ignores cover on the other plasma...

Lolz! A plague champ with a lc that strikes at i3. A plague knife can wound a mc on a 4+. I would get n axe or p fist if i buy anything.

You know what, I'm so lightning claw obsessed on chaos champions that I totally forgot he's initiative 3! Thanks for that dude, a grave error on my part methinks.

He is right about the LC and I3 but also think that with 5 PM and 2 PG and a rhino you have 15pts left to fill... I would personally go for 12pts and a havoc launcher on the rhino. A 48" str5 ap5 small twin-linked blast is good for kill team.

That leaves 3 points for a combi bolter. Pretty sure that is the only thing left you could afford.

It's never worth putting anything other than like a flamer weapon on a Leader for Kill Team. Each mission type awards victory points for slaying one so if he's out in the open, dude gon' get sniped. Every time. And if he's going to just sit in the rhino to avoid that, it's a waste of points to bother with a weapon.
The plague knife he comes with standard is more than good enough. You're going to cause a lot more wounds on the types of guys you can fight than they will to you.
Da Squig brings up something I totally never thought about. Combi-Bolters are only 3 points! Pretty worthwhile upgrade on a Champion and I mean, if you go the Havoc Launcher route it's all you can do, anyway.
Two thoughts on what to do with the extra plasma guy. Tank Hunter isn't a bad idea. Gives you a way to potentially deal with enemy Rhinos.
That just leaves making sure you've got a way to deal with guys in cover. I think maybe going the Mobility route is the way to go there. Can't go infiltrate if you've already got preferred enemy (same specialist for both). Crusader off Indomitable should help there. Just run the guy til he's in charge range.

You are aware that the rhino can only carry 1 man in kill teams as every model counts as a unit of 1.
meaning one lucky filth monger can ride in style while the rest walk.
i would run this for nurgle:
7 Plague marines
1 Plasma
1 Melta
1 Combi-weapon
comes in at something like 197 IIRC

Can't you pile all the Plagues in the Rhino to start, then only have 1 in at a time after they disembark initially?

Pretty sure you can't.
In kill teams you purchase models as units form their codex but every model counts as its own unit, and only 1 unit can be in a vehicle, hence only 1 guy.
could be a way to get a plasma of meltagun into close range quick.

You're incorrect. Kill Team rules modify transport capacity. As long as the model has the capability of carrying a unit of the type trying to embark on it, it can. They can even be from different squads embarked on it at the same time.
