So you may have seen my two posts about mechanized wolves and in your face Tyranids. The reason I brought these two lists to the attention of DakkaDakka is that I'm going to start running intro games in my group of friends and I'd like to have somewhat balanced, very fun lists to play with and against on either side. Here's what I've decided on. I have no idea how these two will do against each other so if it looks lopsided or entirely one sided, PLEASE let me know. I'll be able to build both these lists very reasonably but if it's just impossible for one side to win, I'm going to change it up. Anyway, ere we go.

Tyranid blitz swarm:
FHT w/ 2x BL devourers
30 hormagaunts with toxin sacs
20 termagants with 10 devourers (tunnel assault)
20 gargoyles with toxin sacs
Trygon Prime with toxin sacs, tail biomorph (which one do I take?)

Space Wolf Hammer and Anvil
Rune Priest in terminator armor with JotWW and LL
3 wolf guard terminators with PF/SB and Arjac Rockfist w/ DP
10 grey hunters, 2x plasma guns, plasma pistol, rhino
5 blood claws (counter assault element)
6 long fangs w/ 5 missile launchers

Is the prehensile Pincer worth taking on a TPrime or Tyrant? Is the toxin spike worth taking? The blood claws are to hide behind the long fangs and hold a back objective and when the swarm inevitably gets to my lines, to assault with their extra rage attacks and hit plenty against term/hormagaunts with their low WS and wound against their low T but it's possible the horde of Horms will wipe them out before they can strike having higher init but if they get the charge (and the claws receive) they will go last but the claws will have less attacks. I feel like it'll be pretty heroic and will probably have a different outcome every game which is what I want. And the Drop pod terminators are on monster hunting duty. I might find 10 pts somewhere just for saga of the beast slayer on the rune priest. The long fangs blow holes in the swarm on the way in with frag missiles and the grey hunters back up anyone where they need it with their jack of all trades weaponry.

Due to the fact the tail weapons don't benefit from smash or anything, I don't really think they are worth it. If you're just looking for points the Maw-claws can be fun on the trygon prime kill something in CC and then get preferred enemy for the rest of the game!

Lists seem fairly balanced to each other. The long fangs will bring a lot of pain unless they are neutralised quickly, but then so will a flyrant heh
