I am a relatively new player with only a few games under my belt and could do with some advise on an army list. Not all models have been purchased so any advice before would be good
HQ
Typhus (230)
Elite
3 x Terminators, MoN, 1 Powerfist, 2 Power Axe, 3 Combi-Plasma (137)
Troops
7 x Plague Marines, 2 Plasma Guns, Melta Bombs, Rhino (238)
7 x Plague Marines, 2 Plasma Guns, Melta Bombs, Rhino (238)
7 x Plague Marines, 2 Melta Guns, Melta Bombs, Rhino (228)
15 x Plague Zombies (70)
10 x Plague Zombies (50)
Fast Attack
Heldrake, Baleflamer (170)
Heldrake, Baleflamer (170)
Heavy Support
Chaos Predator, Lascannons, Autocanon, Havoc Launcher (127)
5 Havocs, 4 Autocannon (115)
3 Obliterators, MoN (228)
The tactics are to have Typhus deep strike in with the terminators and blow up something with plasma before getting into assault. The zombies will hang back holding objectives, freeing up the plagues to take the midfield with lots of heavy support helping out. The drakes will do what they do best.
How would you improve this list?
Would you take one bigger blob of zombies of keep them separate?
Would you keep any zombies in reserve?
Do you think 3 terminators is enough to get Typhus into combat?
My thoughts on taking a predator is that it will hopefully draw fire from the rhinos allowing them to survive better getting my Plagues up field, would you leave it like this or take more Oblits instead?
What weapons would you equip a Predator with in this army?
Any help/tactics is appreciated

How would you improve this list?
I would get and ADL w/ quadgun to give all your backfield dudes cover saves and some dedicated anti-air
Would you take one bigger blob of zombies of keep them separate?
separate, abuse the fearless rule. If you want to send them to the send place, fine, do so. Keeping them separate gives you more options.
Would you keep any zombies in reserve?
No, they're there to soak wounds and make a presence on the board. your PMs will do the scoring usually
Do you think 3 terminators is enough to get Typhus into combat?
That really depends on when you DS then, where you DS them, and what types of weapons your opponent has. If you DS turn 2 very close to your foe's main force and he has any ap2 shooting, then no, probably not
My thoughts on taking a predator is that it will hopefully draw fire from the rhinos allowing them to survive better getting my Plagues up field, would you leave it like this or take more Oblits instead? and What weapons would you equip a Predator with in this army?
I would leave him in the backfield actually, and give him a TL lascannon on his front. If you want to take fire off your PMs, id take beasts or spawn of nurgle, or vindicators with daemonic possession and combi-bolters (siege shields too if you have the pts)

I would change the combi-plas to combi-meltas for the termis, for PM only take PG (I find it works out best), for the pred I would go all lascannons.
Also IMO I would drop the terminators for an agies with quad gun and with the 37pts left boost the 10 man unit to 17, or make both units 16.

You need an aegis with quad gun. Otherwise it looks competitive to me Automatically Appended Next Post: I run a pretty similar list and win. Put the havoc sarge on the quad gun so he doesn't just stand there

Thank you for your help so far, a lot of love for the Aegis!
How would you use the Aegis with this list? Where would you deploy it and what would you keep behind it? Just the Havocs? Would the predators side lascannos have los from behind?
Ta!

I believe if you put your Predator inside the ADL it will confer it's cover save onto it and yes I think it has los from behind

IMHO, it's best to keep the ADL deep in your deployment zone if you take the Quad Cannon. I had it destroyed early once because for some reason I chose to place it at the border of my deployment zone and the no-man's zone .
I've been using a Tri-Las Predator (now going to be 2 of them) placed inside the ADL for the nifty cover saves. It's already saved the tank's arse a few times. Btw, don't mix the weaponry on your Pred. Either go Destructor (Autocannon, HBs, Havoc Launcher) or Annihilator (3 Lascannons).

Thanks guys, I have edited my list slightly. I am cautious about taking out the terminators as I want a good way to get Typus into combat, walking with Zombies is too slow and I don't want to loose a couple of turns of shooting from my Oblits.

Yes. Like I said. I run a very similar list. And I win. Put your havoc sarge on the quad gun. That way the quad fires at his ballistic skill and he has a job now. He isn't just standing there.

Yup you've got it, you've mastered Codex: Nurgle...wasn't too hard was it. Now you've got to work on tactics. I think your big choice each game is to bravely hide behind the ADL until your drakes come in and make your opponent sweat, or to just charge in your PMs on a flank behind some LoS blocking terrian.

Once you get the basics, try throwing in some other units. Maybe convert a nurgle mauler fiend and try that out or replace a heldrake with some bikers. Don't be afraid to experiment. Also, the Crimson Slaughter supplement will give you divination, that could be useful on your havoc squad or a forgefiend.
