Hey there!
Having recently purchased two Sicaran Battle Tanks from Forge World, I now want to build a list around them. For those unaware, they are basically predators with 13/12/12 and a twin-linked rending 6-shot autocannon that ignores jink saves. With this in mind, I am imagining a fortified position where the tanks and supportive weapons fire away at the enemy. Meanwhile, I want a hammer element disrupting the enemy to divide their attention, such as podded troops.
The core which I want to build around is a Master of the Forge (required to field more than one Sicarian), two Sicarians with Lascannon Sponsons, a Thunderfire Cannon and a Defence Line with Quad Gun.
These units deploy at the back, MotF manning the Quad-Gun (with a scoring unit). This gives anti-tank (4 las cannons, 12 TL S7 rending) as well as anti air (4TL S7, 12 more as rending snap shots) and some anti-horde. I now have 790 points to spend on scoring units and the mentioned hammer.
A list I've thought of is
HQ
Master of the Forge w. The Ironstone 120pts
Troops
10 Tactical Marines w. Melta, Combi-Melta in Drop Pod 195pts
10 Tactical Marines w. Melta, Combi-Melta in Drop Pod 195pts
5 Scouts 55pts
Fast Attack
5 Assault Marines w. 2 Flamers in Drop Pod 95pts
Stormtalon w. Skyhammer ML 125pts
Stormtalon w. Skyhammer ML 125pts
Heavy Support
Sicaran Battle tank w. Lascannon Sponsons, Armoured Ceramite (Immunity to melta) 195pts
Sicaran Battle tank w. Lascannon Sponsons, Armoured Ceramite 195pts
Thunderfire Cannon 100pts
Aegis Defence Line w. Quad-Gun 100pts
1500pts
The issue with this list is a slight lack in the AP2 department, although it spams twin linked S6-7 shots of which most rends. MEQ should fold under weight of fire, and my talons together with the gun base should assure air dominance against anything less than 'cron air. If anyone has tweaks or an alternative to the above (which includes the core I mentioned) I'd love to hear it. Cheers for reading!
