A firestorm redoubt is required to fire at the nearest flying monstrous creature withing line of sight and range. But it can also take a Large Blast, battle cannon, does that mean if there is a flyer and the thing is equipped with a battle cannon it can't fire? RAW it won't be able to as far as I can tell, RAI probably not, HIWPI definitely not. I'm just wondering peoples opinions because I'm considering and Imperial guard foot army that relies on fortifications as its whole concept.

around my neck of the woods, it's been house ruled it to say "nearest legal enemy unit"

The Firestorm Redoubt's Primary Target rule makes weapons with skyfire target the nearest flying unit first, and since the battle cannon and gatling cannon don't have skyfire they target the closest enemy unit.
