Hmmm, I see that the book said we can kit out our characters to have the some wargear as characters in the book. Kranon is equipped with three relics, but the book also states we can only have one per army.
So this implies we can't recreate Kranon, but then why did they include a description of his equipment and say we could recreate him? That makes one think you can deck out characters as you desire.

The other alternative is that you can only break the "one relic per army clause" with the case of these specific characters, kind of like special characters in the vanilla codex.

If so that kinda blows.... I wanted to give Kranon the mark of Khorne and make zerkers troops. BUMMER.

What do you guys think about this point on number of relics? Maybe we can't have Kranon in the first place.

It's the same as all other relics, you can only have one of each relic. So you can't duplicate relics but you can take more then one.

What about "Equip your own characters with the Relics of the Crimson Slaughter – or use these items to recreate the legendary champions of the Crimson Slaughter themselves."

And then it shows Kranon and lists his wargear.

"Kranon the Relentless, Master of the Crimson Slaughter

Chaos Lord with Blade of the Relentless, the Slaughterer's Horns, Daemonheart, plasma pistol and sigil of corruption."

Why the heck would they include this in the codex if they didn't want you to have Kranon with all his gear in your army?

You can have Kranon and all his gear. It just means no other character can take the same relic (i.e. only one character in each army can have the Blade of the Relentless).

So you can take every single relic on the list on different characters? Wow!

Indeed, it's a high cost proposition though, and generally doesn't work out too well

You can take each relic only 1 time. You can stick 3 on 1 character and make kranon, or you can split them between multiple characters.

It's the same thing they did with the farsight enclaves codex and the eight.
