Greetings Dakkaites.
I'm taking a brief breather from my Vostroyan I.G. to work on an alternate Inquisitor I can use with my Guard army. At current, I already have one Inquisitor I'm very happy with, Inquisitor Atticus Garrow, of the Ordo Xenos (Picture below)
I typically run Atticus as a Psyker (Usually with Prescience) wearing Carapice Armor and wielding a Plasma Pistol/Bolt Pistol combo, along with Rad Grenades and a trio of Servo Skulls. He's relatively cheap for this wargear, topping out at around 90 points. (Or right at around 75 if I choose to forgo the Rad Grenades.)
I wanted a foil for my Ordo Xenos Inquisitor that I could run either with, or against, Atticus Garrow. Thus was born Inquisitor Zackariah Voross, of the Ordo Hereticus. Here's the miniature.

Showing the (very minor) conversion I did on the hand.
Inquisitor Voross will be staunchly anti-psyker. He'll be wearing Power Armor (obviously), wielding an Infernus Pistol and a Null Rod, along with a trio of Servo Skulls once again, and will also have a Psyocculum on occasion (though I'm not sure how to model that as yet, and may leave it off of him. Not sure.). I'm not 100% sure on the colors yet. Black armor? Perhaps Gold, or brighter colored armor? I'm leaning toward Gold at present with a bright red cape and bronze or boltgun metal details. Though I kind of wonder what other colors might look good beyond Metallic shades.
As for the miniature, I took the pose and sort of envision him executing a heretic in front of him, scowling in disdain at the wretched creature he's killing. I'm about to step outside shortly and try to get him base coated once I'm sure the superglue has set and finished curing.
Here's some of what I'm working on for the characters themselves. Their narrative, so to speak.
I'm feeling like Inquisitor Voross is all about appearance, with a haughty personality. His hair always groomed neatly, his armor pristine and shining. He would never resort to associating with Xenos, and mistrusts (or even fears?) Psykers of all types, even those sworn to serve the Emperor. To Voross, the only good Pyker is a dead one. His Null Rod is never more than an arms length away from him at any point. His personal quest is to seek out and kill Heretics and Witches, even those of other Inqusitional Ordos. That said, he will not break decorum, and as such would not openly kill another Inquisitor he knows is a Psyker without evidence that said Inquisitor has gone rogue, or has questionable or heretical tendencies that could "Threaten the sanctity of the Imperium". His current target is one particularly 'heretical' Inquisitor of the Ordo Xenos, one Atticus Garrow, and Inquisitor Voross has made it very clear he intends to find out for certain if Garrow's exploits have put the Imperium of Man and it's interests in jeopardy, and find a 'solution' to those threats if the Imperium is indeed in danger.
By comparison, Inquisitor Garrow is very much of the function over form, not caring as much about his appearance (though, he thinks he is rather Dashing and Mysterious if you ask him), and has been known to lean toward a "heretical" side if the need arises; To him the ends he uses justify his means. He is a fairly notable Psyker, and has been known to try and divine the best course to ensure the survival of the Imperium of Man. He works alone typically, and has been known to fraternize and seek the aid of the Eldar on occasion, comparing his own psychic divination with the much further reaching divination of the Eldar. There are even reports of small forces of Eldar warriors swooping in and lending aid to Imperial forces that Inquisitor Garrow is assisting or leading. Though his methods may not always be conventional, and his personality might be a tad eccentric, his loyalty to the Imperium of Man has never been in question by those who meet him or know him well. Inquisitor Garrow was last seen in the company of the 5th Vostroyan Firstborn Regiment, reportedly working closely with the command elements of the 5th Vostroyan Firstborn to avert a withering catastrophe he has foreseen in the strands of divination he watches. Time will tell if he, and the Guardsmen following him, will succeed.
Just some random musings, thanks for reading and I'll update with pictures of the miniature soon.
Take it easy for now guys.
