I found this in a package at work today, I found a note in broken English, a photo and some other stuff in Chinese.

What do I do?

I'm guessing you'll want to report this to whoever sent the package, if it's goods from a company, and you should probably alert a human rights group or two and have them look into it.

Where do you work, i'd just turn it in or if your worried about it run it by the police office i guess. It looks like and the description matches a bladder shunt which is fairly common in the medical world. Did you find the box at your desk or something

I don't want to reveal too much info.

I work at a retail store and that's all I will say about that.

It was just stuffed in a box from the shipment we got in yesterday.

EDIT: I've talked to my boss about it, the boss didn't seem to care about it, told me to take it home.

I don't think so, I mean, you certainly shouldn't get in trouble, unless there's something we don't know. You should probably go to your higher ups before anyone else, since sometimes companies have weird policies about stuff like this, but some human rights groups should get a look at this.

I can't read Chinese, but like the link it looks pretty similar on its face to that plea for help. If it was stuffed into a shipment from China, it sounds very VERY similar to the k-mart story. Again, I'm not sure because I can't read Chinese, but the broken English seems to imply that, mentioning prison, no human rights, etc.

If its not normal for your store i'd tell a supervisor asap so it's on them to deal with.

My friends said I should go to the local University and take it to go see if there is a Chinese studies professor and/or email it to a representative of New York.

I have a coworker who is from China, and also pretty big into the Chinese human rights movement. I can run it by her tomorrow.

Might be asking for a PM with more information, depending on what I find out.

I'll be showing this to my Professor tomorrow morning, who is a huge human rights advocate on my campus. We've had discussions about clandestine calls for help from abroad as our seminar subjects several times. This is simply atrocious, what goes on in the world. This really bothers me because we go in-depth about these problems on a weekly basis and now just seeing it on my hobby forums is extremely disturbing.

My colleague was not in office today. Not sure if she'll be back tomorrow, but I'll check.

So the people looked at it and after expressing their disgust, said they can't read 'traditional' Chinese. Damn it, I really wanted to know what the documents said.

The header is from a police station in a city whose name I can't read. The title below that says notice of arrest. They seem to be filled in forms saying who and who was arrested on which day for what reason

I can't read Chinese but the really badly translated note seems to be saying that a Chinese man was arrested and suffered from some kind of medical condition which was ignored for months while he was in jail. His condition deteriorated and he died.

I frankly am not sure what to do with this; I happen to be in college so I'd probably try to show it to a professor of Chinese. It does seem like a cry for help, but I'd definitely try to find someone who reads Chinese (and, preferably, deals with Chinese politics/culture or something in a professional capacity like a professor or something). All though I'm not sure what that might do to your position at work. Definitely try to remain as anonymous as possible.
