EDIT: New list with changes suggested on this thread/new formation:

Sorc, SoC, Balestar, +2 psyker levs

10 CSM, Rhino, 2x plasma
10 CSM, Rhino, 2x plasma

Helbrute

Heldrake, bale

Forgefiend, dakka
Forgefiend, dakka

Helcult formation -
18 Cultists
17 Cultists
Helbrute, Missile, TL-Las

Revamped my previous attempt at a Crimson Slaughter list after taking in some constructive criticism.

HQ - Chaos Lord, Blade of the Relentless, Daemonheart, Prophet of the Voices, Melta Bombs
Chaos Sorcerer, Balestar of Mannon, Sigil of Corruption, +2 Psyker Levels

Troops - 13 Chaos Cultists
13 Chaos Cultists
9 Possessed, MoN, Rhino

Elites - Helbrute, ML, PC
Helbrute

Fast Attack - Heldrake

Heavy Support - Forgefiend, Hades
Forgefiend, Hades

Issues with this list;
-Weak troops, not enough scoring.
-Baleflamer or Autocannon on the drake? Prescienced Forgefiend works pretty well for AA, but more options aren't a bad thing. That said, you all know the baleflamer.
-Possessed are pushing forward alone, if the need to push arises. More planning to use them as point-defence, with their new mobility, but that isn't always an option.
How to solve?

Previous incarnation had more kit/bodies on the cultists, a mutilator, no Heldrake, and a double PF/Flamer Helbrute in a Dreadclaw. After my match tonight I worked out a few changes.

This list will likely change when the new Helbrute formations drop.

Well, you have 2 tooled up characters and 9man squad with a Rhino, so I think the first step is drop a Possessed so both IC's can go in there. After that use the points and drop the 3 cultists from both squads for an additional 10man squad, giving you 4 troops choices.

I like the Forgefiends for AA, they should do just fine. So keep the Baleflamer on the Drake, that way you have a really good way to kill skittish little Eldar Jetbikes, Devestator squads, Rangers, and pretty much anything else that has a 3+ save. I think the list looks good, tho that's alot of points dropped in one squad...

TL;DR version: With a few tweaks you're lookin good

I think your units are a little too pricey for a 1500 point game. Too many upgrades when you need feet on the ground.

Truth, jathomas. My 1 test game I kept the Sorc back with the cultists to keep prescience up on the Forgefiends, but maybe he should be going up front.

Serg Rush, you talking about the possessed or my HQ as well? I'm def keeping the Sorc as-is, though I'm looking at dropping the possessed.

What would you folks consider replacing the Possessed/Chaos Lord with?

Get rid of the possessed, 250+ points for nine marines that are pretty tame in close combat isn't worth it. Bulk up your cultist squad. Take some regular marines. Get rid of the dreadnaught, you'll be much better served by a vindie or a pred. Calm down on the artifacts on that lord, for that many points you're straying into a Lord of Khorne with the +2 axe of soloing units area. Get rid of the sigil on the Sorc, 25 points for a +1 inv save isn't worth it. All in all you need less flash and more grunts.

Also, I see no reason to have a second Forgefiend. You can only cast Prescience on one at a time. I guess it's ok for back up.

I do recommend considering 2 obliterators with MoN instead, they can deepstrike and multimelta heavy armor or flame some squishy guard/tau hiding behind aegis defense lines. I do like the one forgefiend though.

What about this;
Sorc, SoC, Balestar, +2 psyker levs

10 cultist
10 cultist
10 cultist

10 CSM, Rhino, 2x plasma
10 CSM, Rhino, 2x plasma

Helbrute, PF, PC
Helbrute, Missile, TL-Las

Heldrake, bale

Forgefiend, dakka
Forgefiend, dakka

I like 2x forge over a pair of oblits; saturation, backup, and quantity of shots vs oblits who often fail me. and brutes are for fun/for armour saturation/practice for dataslate.
But where does the Sorc go? Drop a marine?

If you are taking 2 hebrutes I'd make them both helcults and drop a squad of marines. Given they are all pushing together (for 3+ cover) id go with the standard loadout.

although Ive a burning desire to take the squadron of 5 helbrutes with plasma and missile launchers and prescience them with a pink horror herald or crimson sorc.
