As I just can't find the original thread on this KS since it left N&R I'll start another here

Just to say that I've got all the rewards from the KS and they are all really neat, and (rare for KS projects) fulfilment was basically on time with the estimate of the KS

so if Bob Olley runs another KS I can highly recommend it

So here are the results, neat heat sealed packaging in clear plastic so you can see everything, and don't risk loosing bits until you're ready to build them which is a great idea

all the casts are good with few or any mould lines

These are unashamedly old school being defiantly heroic scale (no bad thing, but something to be aware of if you want to mix them with other manufacturer's ranges as they don't blend well with 'true-scale' minis). I've photographed one of the thugs with a GW Ork Nob and a Sedition Wars metal mini to give you an idea of the size

Nice! It looks like these may have turned out to be amongst Bob's "good" sculpts, too. (I've always opined that his stuff is about 80% horrid, 20% awesome).

Ouch. Bob's got a unique style, but I've not seen much/any of his stuff that I would call horrid, and I've owned quite a bit of his work from various companies over the years.

That cast does look good, much better than I had expected from when I looked at the greens in the campaign. Very nice! But you're right, Very "heroic" in scale

Had my pledge arrive on Saturday-5 packs of pith helmet heads. Now I need to find some bodies to make Praetorian Squats!

I have to say from the start, this has been one of the best Kickstarters I have participated in. Great communication throughout, and a fantastic product arriving in a timely manner. I wish all went his well!

Bob has always been the Vegemite/Marmite of sculptors. Even GW gave him his own range (Iron Claw) after awhile because his style is so ...unique. It might seem a bit mean, but I've found most of his stuff is just that - at least to my own aesthetic tastes.

sounds like they should be up on Bob's website (http://www.olleysarmies.co.uk/home.html) soon for those that missed the KS, and that we might well see more in the future

from the KS comments

Creator Bob Olley about 16 hours ago

It's been great reading all your comments, thanks to everyone for taking the time to write. You've all been brilliant and patient backers, because of your support we now have all these new miniatures to add to our Olleys Armies website. Plus we've been given many great suggestions by you for future additions to the range, so Bob is going over these ideas to see what he can do for a future victorian steampunk kickstarter. cheers Bob & Jackie

and for those who like to see info on how these things work Bob and Jackie have been generous enough to post a breakdown of the costs (it's backer only so I won't share before I've vhecke it's ok to do so)

but the last bit says it all

........but most importantly not only do we now have the moulds made to cast lots of lovely new miniatures that we can add to our website for sale, we have also made Olleys Armies known to a few more people. So once again thank you to everyone who backed us and please fell free to share your completed painted miniatures on our Olleys Armies facebook page, we would love to see them cheers Bob & Jackie
