Guarded Grey Knight Terminator

If you were to build a Chess army from a 40k army, which army would you use and who would be your
Pawns:
Rook:
Knight:
Bishop:
Queen:
King:

try to avoid creatures with large bases/tanks/etc since they wouldn't fit on a chessboard
Also try to keep each army within 1 codex/theme

I would do an Ordo Malleus army

Pawns: Grey knight strikers
Rook: GK paladins
Knight: Crusaders
Bishop: Preacher
Queen: Draigo (this one is hard since there are no women)
King: Coteaz

If i were to make an opposing army it would likely be a CSM/Daemon army
Pawns: Cultists
Rook: Terminators
Knight: Raptors
Bishop: Sorcerer
Queen: Herald of Slaanesh
King: Herald of Khorne

What are your thoughts? What would you make for your army /armies?

It's rather hard to actually do this with the base limitations. Without that limitation I would say:

Pawns: Firewarriors
Rook: Broadsides
Knight: Crisis suit
Bishop: Stealth suit
Queen: Shadowsun
King: Aun'va

I'm expecting an Imperial Knights supplement dedicated to GW's loyalist apologetics. Codex: White Knights "In the grim dark future, everything is fine."

"The argument is that we have to do this or we will, bit by bit,
lose everything that we hold dear, everything that keeps the business going. Our crops will wither, our children will die piteous
deaths and the sun will be swept from the sky."

As an avid chess-player i like the thought. Since i play BA i cant really speak for others, although id enjoy the thought of trying to see nids stuck on a chessboard.
Blood Angels:
Pawns: ASM's
Rook: Death Company
Knight: Sanguinary Guard
Bishop: Sanguinary Priests
Queen: Mephiston
King: Dante

Not that it matters because given the amount of interbreeding that went on with that lot I'm pretty sure the Queen is her own Uncle.

Eldar:
Pawns: Guardians (Storm or Defender, doesn't make a difference)
Rook: Fire Dragon Exarch
Knight: Warp Spider Exarch
Bishop: Spiritseer
Queen: Autarch
King: Eldrad

Tyranids
Pawns: Genestealers
Rook: Tyrant Guard (2nd edition preferably, the one that had two legs and carried a shield)
Knight: Gargoyles
Bishop: Zoanthrope
Queen: Tervigon (just kidding, probably a Shrike)
King: Tyranid Prime

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

The Marine Standing Behind Marneus Calgar

Ah, the chess set thread. An oldie, but goodie. Let’s raise the bar: Get a board, and set them up!

King: Chapter Master
Queen: Librarian
Bishops: I used a apothecary for the white, and chaplain for the black. Seemed appropriate.
Knights: Assault marines
Rooks: TH/SS termis. For those of you without old, small based terminators, techmarines or devastators could work here.
Pawns: Tactical Marines.

I would base my chess board on the current FOC.

Pawns: Fire warriors
Rook: Imperial knights

King: Riptide

Jokes aside I would do something like this for my DA
Pawns: Deathwing terminators
Rook: Deathwing knights
Knights: Ravenwing bikers
Bishop: black knights
Queen: Asmodai
King: Azreal

Forest hunter sept ~3500
guardians of the covenant 4th company ~ 6000

Preacher of the Emperor

For me, I would put the Sisters like this:

Pawns: Battle Sisters
Rooks: Retributors
Knights: Dominions (they just seem to fit better with cavalry than Seraphim would, given that their business is charging in and they're often mounted in a vehicle)
Bishop: Ministorum Priest
Queen: Saint Celestine
King: Kyrinov (I know he's not in the codex anymore, but he's much more regal than Jacobus)

Order of the Righteous Armour - 542 points so far.
