Ok maybe misread here, but I see a lot of folks taking a TM to help their ally Knight. I confused if this is allowed cause the FQA has this.
Can models from an Allied Detachment that have the ability to repair Hull Points or Immobilised/Weapon Destroyed results from
the Vehicle Damage Table use this ability on Allied vehicles? (p112)
A: No
Now does this count for the main detachment too? I mean their both are allied to each other?

The confusion stems from a very poorly written FAQ question/answer. It should read

A: No
The use of the term 'Allied Detachment' in this FAQ is being used to describe a detachment that has an allied relationship to another detachment. This could be a primary detachment, an inquisitorial detachment, any kind of detachment other than the one the model with the repair ability is in. But "Allied Detachment" is more often used to describe a detachment that is not your primary detachment, and as a result the confusion is that if the techmarine is in your primary detachment you can repair vehicles in other detachments and if the marines is in an allied detachment he can't repair vehicles in your primary detachment.
The problem with that reading is that it also means techmarines in an allied detachment can't repair any vehicles in their own detachment either.

My that thread was worthless. trying to get meaning from the way this are pronounced , and emphasized only really works for spoken words. He ment this cause there's a Big A and a not a small a or was it the other way around. Shrug what if they just forgot the sift key.
Shrug Guess the real answer is " Not sure."

If I was GW I'd say that a MOTF can repair vehicles from allied space marine armies. (And maybe IG, SOB, etc) After all, why wouldn't they be able to? A Rhino is a Rhino.
But then if they're allied with Eldar or Tau or something, then there's no way they should be able to, regardless of how friendly.

That seems to be in debate.
Personally, I think that was GW's intention, but its not clear.
