Hey All,
I decided to update some of my Flesh Tearers and came up with a nice scheme for the red ( IMO), I have attached the old photo of what the guys looked like before and what they now look like. Give me some new thoughts, ideas, praise, criticism, etc. I am specifically looking for comments on the red, but if you have an idea for the black I would take that too! Thanks for looking.

Nice improvement I would say. I'm not at your level still working on how to do the highlights, but I think they look a lot better now then they did.
Only thing I noticed, is the SM with the beakie helmet looks like you either missed the highlight on the helmet or just a bad angle on the picture that it doesn't show as well.

only advice I can give is try to get the lines a little thinner.. but ummm they look pretty darn spiffy soooooooooo Automatically Appended Next Post: To clarify it's the line highlighting on the red

IMO: Use a red ink wash to tone down the highlights.

Bubber, do you mean a wash or a glaze?

Wow the reworked models really pop nicely! I like the exaggerated highlights, I bet they look great on the game table!

Either a glaze (like the GW one but I find it a bit weak) or ink but I shouldn't have said wash - the way I do it is load a small amount on your brush & brush across the red bits. The aim is not to flood the area but rather to 'stain' it.
A bit like this (used this as an example as it more clearly shows the results this technique can achieve):
