I want to set up a weekly thing at my flgs, instead of calling in weekly to set up a game. Every one has a 40k army, they do 40k tournaments and such, so40 isn't a foreign concept to them. They also have a weekly WHF night, if that helps. The biggest problem is me being new player here, and being way younger than the rest of the players (Me being 14 and the youngest there seeming to be 19)

I wouls just go into the store and talk to the owner (or the guy working there) and just ask "hey is there a warhammer 40k night like the warhammer fantasy night?"
That will get the conversation going and maybe ask him if you can set a night up and you can figure it out from there.

Might work, though would be kinda weird as I've already asked twice

Oh well what did they say the times that you did ask? Was it the owner/manager or just some random employee?

They said they don't have one running but have one planned for the summer. Pretty sure it was the manager, as there are only two workers and they both would know the schedule, since they both play

Ah well summer is right around the corner then! I guess all you can do is wait or see if they can start it sooner lol

As the odds of anyone posting on these forums being one of the two people who work at the store are very slim, the best we can offer is general guidelines for establishing social circles.

Do you know the other people who play there? Like, hang out with them often or anything? If so, then you might want to consider asking them if they're interested, get them on board with the idea. Maybe you or one of them have space (garage, hobby room, large basement, whatever) that can host?

Maybe one of them knows the manager more?

When they said "we're thinking of doing something this summer", were your next words "what about in the meantime? How would we go about getting a weekly thing set up?"? If not, they should be. Walk up to dude/dudette that works there and be like "So, last time I asked, you said there was going to be a 40K thing this summer. Who do I need to talk to to get involved with that? How would we go about setting something up to get started sooner?"

Worst thing they can do is say no.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

We all know the manager pretty well, and convincing him isnt gonna be that hard. You can just walk in any time and set up a game if some one else is there with their army. The difficult part is convincing every one else to come, as I only really know one or two of the regular players and dont really know how to go about telling every one aside from going to fantasy night. They dont have an Events Board or anything, and are horribly disorganized when it comes to presenting any information.

Obviously, you have a computer. Once you get the go-ahead from the manager to make it a regular, weekly thing, and you get those 1 or 2 other people onboard with the idea, make a flyer. Post in on the community board in the FLGS there, if they have one (and they should), and maybe throw a few up at the community boards in your local grocery store. Put the address of the store on there, the days and times, and maybe some 40K fluff-text that catches the eye.

Print up about 20 of 'em, post 'em up, and play. Even if only 1 other person shows up at the first event, it's a start, and let it build from there.
