I'm excited people! Over the last few months I've read many Ork rumors and I love everything! Now I understand that this in no way means that it is true, but I feel really optimistic. The prospect of finally getting some use out of my units and creating more. That's the part I love.
There's so much to do with Escalation, SA, and Forgeworld. That's a lot of building. I'm a true Mek boy at heart and I don't collect outside of the greenskins so I'm always looking for more additions to my army. The scratchbuilding is the best part and for Orks it just..works. Sometimes I won't even buy certain things, I make 'em. I've recently scratch built a couple weirdboys, big Meks, and Stormboyz (bootleg jetpacks included).
It's been a good 6th edition for my Orks. With a noticeably winning record and a ever growing armyI can't wait until my next battle. Supposedly that is this upcoming weekend against the new Tyranids. Hopefully my momentum will carry me over because my record vs the bugs is 0-3.
Thanks for reading. Waaaaagh!

On the one hand, I love Orks (don't play them, but I love them) and it is always great to see the green skins win.
On the other hand, as a Tyranid player, I really like to see green things on the menu.
Either way, it should be a good game. Good luck.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.

Thanks. Sorry about the title confusion everyone. Random Ork Ramblings would be a more appropriate title as I am not really ranting.

I have over 150 Ork models sitting in a dresser below the Chaos Space Marine models just WAITING to come out and play.
Started collecting them with their old 3rd edition book. Tried playing them with their 5th edition book...
Is HEAVILY anticipating their 6th edition (or 7th) book!

I wouldn't even be mad if Orks were the new uber-dex and demolished everyone else all the time. Every Ork player I know is a really, really cool person.

The problem is that all the not-cool cheese people would also flock to the new 'flavour of the month' army.

Most of us Ork players are cool because we play the army out of pure love at this point.
(While I mean that jokingly, there is a grain of truth to it. The guys I love to play the most in my group have 1 maybe two armies they have been loyal to for years now, and codexes come and go, rules may pass you by, but if you love an army and enjoy painting and collecting it, it sure does seem more fun to play it)
I go into every battle these days (since I came back to 6th edition) with the mindset that I am going to scare the hell out of the guy I play with sheer mass, and then he gets to have a hoot taking my models off the board.
Honestly though, I feel like a dying breed. A fun game is a fun game, I do hate when I go second and spend 25 minutes picking all my models back up, but I figure we will just have more time for another match.

This is honestly a huge part of the reason I started my own ork army. (Not because I'm claiming I'm a really, really cool person. Rather, because ork players overwhelmingly seem to be great sports and solid chaps all around.)

I'm personally hoping that Walkers such as the Killa Kans and Deff Dredds come back into a solid force as I love having a massed army of walkers on the filed

You've kinda got to be like that being an Ork player. We know we're gonna suffer casualties on the board, just have to hope they'll be small enough to deal with before we can get into some melee & clobber people and if not, we'll always come back to ' av anuvva go, jus' like any right an' proppa Ork!
As for the new 'Dex possibly making Orks the cheesy flavour of the month... yeah ok there'll be some new attention but the sheer scale of investment of both time & money you need to put into an Ork army may well put some off if they're anything other than (chortles to self at the thought) completely OP. Have to think many wouldn't last the pace and those of us with them now will be so invested into the armies they already have, that other than a few tweaks & refreshes I doubt you'd see sweeping changes. Put it this way, no amount of rule buffing is going to see me changing my ladz to a vastly more optimal force purely for that. A shiny new toy or two that I like aside, what will be, very much will be.

Yeah, I play a mostly fluffy Green tide, not because of what is optimal, but because having 5 or 6, 30 ork platoons is right and proper. Nothing like spending 30 minutes taking models out of your carrying case, I swear I am going to paint the toolbox I use to carry my magnetized models to look like a clown car.

I've been playing Orks since 2000 and I just think that out of all the armies in the 40k universe, they have the most personality. They are just so quirky and fun to play.
I've played death skulls since I started because I thought it would be fun giving an Ork a sniper rifle. It was my first conversion and I haven't looked back.
I always loved conversations with my SM mates complaining about painting up another TAC squad and thinking, "I've just painted 30 boys and have another 15 lootas to go!"
Hahaha, I love Orks

I just can't wait for that supposed Tankbustas/Flash gitz combikit. I started with a freebootaz army because I thought flash gitz are awesome and then realized that there is no model for them, the rules are okayish and the points cost are excruciating. I sure hope this changes with the next Dex.

While that kit would most definitely be cool, I'm kinda thinking it'll be more Tankbustas/Kommandos with Flash Gitz continuing as kitbash/convert jobs... just depends if they're going to bin the entire finecast range with the new book or not.

I think this has to be added in my Sig
I also think most of this comes from the way the army is played. We’re not out there to crush you and not give you a chance to win. Were here to drown you in our massive dice rolls
Since we only hot on 5 and 6 I rarely take anything seriously, I play the game to throw dice and have orky shenanigans (I always press dat and always run with a SAG).
Orks are just fun to play and Forgeworld gives us alot of love
