I'm thinking of adding some traitor Black Dragons to my Word Bearer army, I loved them in the Death of Antagonis and would like to have some without starting a whole new army.
So I'm looking for tips on making them, specifically how to make the arm blades and create the chapter symbol and any other tips guys can offer!
Thanks in advance!

I have had the Black Dragons haunting the back of my mind since I was introduced to them in the Third War for Armageddon campaign.
So far all I have is the idea of some arm-blades and horns.
The old fluff spoke of some BDs coating their arm-blades in metal and sharpening them.
I have always thought of doing the rather obvious thing; using Tyranid bits.

As to the bony arm blade protrusions I would have said Tyranids too but you could always carve a piece of 1mm plasticard to make a blade, a little GS ridging would make it more organic looking
Good luck, the Black Dragons are a cool and rarely seen Chapter, it'd be great to see what you come up with!

There was a short article in an old white dwarf where someone used Tyranid bitz to convert his own army of Black Dragons, they actually looked really cool.

Your mother is too.....no, not going to go there.
Well, it would heavily depend on how you envision Black Dragons, and which Tyranid bits you use, wouldn't it? Automatically Appended Next Post: VikingChild wrote:Spellcrow do a range of conversion bits for Salamanders/Dragons themed marines

Oooh, I could really see myself using some of those Spellcrow bits for a project such as this.

The first thing I thought of, that would make some biological sense, be easy to implement and (subjectively of course, but IMO) look good would be cocktail sticks.
Ok, they'd be more spikes than blades, but that would make slightly better sense biologically (think Wolverine from the movies pre adamantium)
You'd need to rough them up slightly with the edge of a knife, and counter sink the ends into the armour, so they looked like they were emerging from, rather than stuck to, it, but I think it could really work.
