My local gaming store is running a team tournament in a couple of weeks. Rules are simple: no special characters, single force org chart that is shared between both armies, and lastly each army must take one HQ and one Troop choice.
Ork side: Close combat role and move and hit fast. Get into hand to hand turn 1 if possible and turn 2 at latest
HQ: Warboss (w/ Warbike, attack squiq, powerclaw)
Troop: 5x Biker Nobs (w/ 2x big choppas, 2x powerclaws, 1x painboy)
Fast: 20x stormboyz (Nob: with bosspole & powerclaw)
Fast: 20x stormboyz (Nob: with bosspole & powerclaw)
Eldar side: Long range support and objective nabbing, also biker support
HQ: Farseer on jetbike
Troop: 5x Direavengers in Wave Serpeant w/ bright lance
Troop: 5x rangers
Troop: 5x rangers
FA: 6x shinning spears (exarch with lance upgrade and hit & run)
HS: Falcon with bright lance and spirit stones
HS: Fire Prism
HS: Fire Prism
I think it will be fun to play, but I figure we will loose a few games. Unless we catch someone off guard with stormboyz rolling huge for movement (30" max threat, 21"-22" realistic threat) The elder will provide long range support with the shinning spears fast moving up with our fast moving orks to hit any targets a little too heavily armored for the stormboyz to handle with ease.
What Im having issues with is capping objectives with out losing to much of our ranged support or too much of our mobility. I expect the biker nobz to be all dead by turn 3 on most games; they draw so much hate they will die (only 5 plus boss.)
Would you drop a fire prism for more durable elder objective holding?
Would you shrink the size of the stormboyz to pick up more biker nobz?
Would you shrink the size of the stormboyz for truck mob or other ork scoring units?
I really want a crystal targeting matrix on the falcon (not enough points)... Thoughts?
Farseer on bike vs. Autarch on bike?
Is it fast/mobile enough?
Thanks,
CrazyCombatCarl
