Ok, i have a small 500 pt game on Tuesday against my buddy and his Chaos Marines.

Here's my proposed list

2 trukks: Red Paint - Rokkit Launcha

each have:

9 shoota boyz
1 Nob - Power Klaw -
1 Warboss - Mega Armor - Boss Pole

Think it'll work?

The list would do fine but if it was mine I would just take a basic Warboss and a bunch of Boyz with shootaz. This would be mine.

Warboss with a power klaw 85pts
20 Boyz with shootaz and two rokkit launchaz, 140pts
20 Boyz with shootaz and two rokkit launchaz, 140pts
20 Boyz with shootaz and one rokkit launcha, 130pts
495pts

Anyway the list would work but, in my opinion at least, its not the best. (btw if i have any of the points wrong for this list feel free to tell me)

My favorite at 500 points has been
Big Mek/MegaArmour,BP
20 Shoota boyz/Nob,BP
20 Shoota boyz/Nob,BP
10 Lootas/DeffGuns (MegaMek to confer S&P)

So far has worked well for me

Hmmm, 500pts eh? I have always been a sucker for this little list:

Big Mek w/ Shokk attack gun
10x Lootas
Deff Dread w/ 4x Dreadnought close combat weapon
19x Ork Boyz
+18x Boy
+Nob w/ Power klaw

But your list is fine Blaylokk. Nice little speed freak list never hurts. Just be wary of the Ramshackle table.
Also morfydd you cleaver clogs, I never thought of adding a Mega Armour HQ into a loota mob for S&P. I might have to try that out sometime.

We're planning to play only small games for a while. We're just finally getting all the rules and mechanics down.

We played 2k points a couple weeks ago.... and with all the referencing we did .. it took FOREVER

SO only small games until we're a bit more comfortable.

What's S&P? still kinda new lol

It is the Slow and Purposefull Universal Special Rule..
the Big Mek in Mega armour does several things ..
a PK..some 2+ saves to keep the unit going ..move and shoot at full BS but gives up the ability to overwatch..a bosspole amoung the lootas to keep them in the game ..

The Loota unit is your heavy fire power it will shoot most tanks to death at this point level

I am a sucker for burying them in bodies at 500pts.

30 x Shoota Boys


Round out with Bits (Big Shootas most of the time for me) and Nobs to reach your 500. It lacks imagination, but I really do enjoy rolling a bucket of dice at someones 10 man squad.


I also run a

Warboss
19 x Choppa Boys
10 x Lootas
20 x Shoota boys

Fill out with Nobs and Boss poles, I attach the Warboss to the Choppas.

Lets see....I use a variation of that where I drop Lootas for a squad of Gretchin and a 3 man Bike squad with a Nob.


The variations are endless....I have another variation that uses 10 stormboys in there instead of Lootas.

We play a lot of Kill Team and 500pt battles in my group because they are easy to fit in busy schedules and different guys kids can join in without the game being too complex, but Orks are the bees knees at these levels.
