I have been toying with this idea for a long time. I wanted to bat some ideas around here with my fellow Dakkanites.

I think that the Dark Eldar Wracks, Mandrakes, Raider (Hutt Barge), Archon (with Sith holocron in hand!), Hesperax, Reavers (speeder bikes), fiend, cronos, and Ravager (Hutt Barge) all fit easy and well with the Star Wars/Sith feel.

The HELL TALON CHAOS FIGHTER BOMBER from FW looks similar enough to the fury class interceptor (use as Razorwing)...

Swords would be replaced (converted) with straight metal rods, painted red, to represent lightsabers. Skin is red, like the Sith, so easy painting. Lots of black cloth with red piping, some silver and gold.

Thoughts?

Is it a modeling project only, or do you intend to play the army as a normal 40k DE army? If you expect to play the army, choice of minis to convert could play a large factor as it would be confusing no doubt to fight an army full of converted DE minis that aren't being used specifically as the units the minis normally represent.

As a modeling project I think this sounds pretty cool and would love to see the end results.

Homunculous (sp) make wracks a troop choice. I'd suggest avoiding mandrakes tbh... But going wrack heavy means lots of sith, which wouldn't really happen. Maybe leaders as sith? The rest as slave races etc

You could use the acothysts as sith and the wracks as apprentices. Also I'd love to see a raider/ravager converted to look like jabba's barge, that'd be epic.

IG with GK allies? GK being the Sith, and IG being Imperial troops.
