Subject: Scale Creep And Vehicles?

So I keep seeing these good deals on older OOP versions of GW vehicles, mainly Land Raiders and such and I'm wondering if this so called scale creep is such that older vehicles will look out of place alongside my other newer vehicles and troops.
Any chance of a side by side shot of say a Rogue Trader Land Raider or Predator and a newer equivalent?

The ones my friend uses are very slim compared to newer ones. Similar width though.

Old school rhinos and preds were slightly smaller. Not desperately so really. I have a friend with several old preds
Old school truck's otoh were itty bitty compared to current ones.
The truck bed is close in size, but the truck is about the size of a buggy most of my old trucks became buggies.

I got an old and new land raider in a deal the other day.
The former is honestly half the size of the latter. Very close to the size of a Leman Russ

Hmmm... I see.
I suppose that from a gameplay aesthetic the smaller vehicles would pose LOS problems. How do you counter this though? Just not worry about it and use them as is or...? I'm not sure if people would call that some kind of MFA or what... any thoughts on that?
But how do the smaller vehicles look when put next to modern foot sloggers like a Marine?
I suppose I could use all old style vehicles for my Chaos army and stick to modern stuff for the Marines.
thanks for replies btw!

My 2e Rhinos look very good next to my Deimos Rhinos, although they are a little smaller. Not unplayably so though.

Your models will look out of place, not just due to size, but due to the design aesthetics changing. The current crop of SM tanks are blockier and heavier-looking than the older ones. There is nothing wrong with how the older models look (although classic Land Raider lascannons have a tendency to break off at the slightest provocation) but they are clearly different in appearance and theme to the newer ones.
