Hey guys, I've been real busy with commissions lately so my personal work has fallen by the wayside. But the past few days I was able to spend picking the brain of Julio Cabos and learning from him. So with that in mind, I decided to dedicate a thread to working on busts and 54mm and above miniatures, which is something I've always enjoyed but never get to do!
So my first "finished" bust is from Young Miniatures.

He's finished for the show this weekend, but I'll be going back and working on some more parts later this next week. The only part I'm truly enjoying right now is the face! lol

But while sitting in Julio's class we were working on "The Looter"
Here is my version.

I'm really happy with him so far! I'll be making him the next miniature on my list to finish as well!
C&C appreciated guys!
Have a good night!

Very nice. The skin tone on the Templar is just right! Wish i saw some castle rubble in the background. Keep us posted please

Life is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless and perfunctory gift nobody ever asked for. Unreturnable because all you get back is another box of chocolates. So you're stuck with this undefinable whipped mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down because there's nothing left to drink. Sure once in a while there's a peanut butter cup or a English toffee, but they're gone too fast and the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits of hardened jelly and teeth shattering nuts. If you're desperate enough to eat those all you've got left is a. An empty box, filled with useless brown paper wrappers.

Templar looks like Sean Connery. Great job by the way!

Crush your enemies, see them driven before you and to hear the lamentations of the women.

Thanks Kelly! The sculpt is definitely Connery inspired and I spent the entire time painting it watching Sean Connery movies!

On another note, he has made it into the Top Last 7 Days on CMoN! It's now my highest rated mini and first 9.0!
