So I am joining a slow grow league and I am going to be playing the Gorten Grundback base set and I need a little help deciding on a 15 point list for the second week. Here are my thoughts.
Gorten Grundback
Ghordson Driller
3x Grundback Gunner
These are the additions I am thinking and would like your opinions on
Thor Steinhammer
Horgenhold Forgeguard
Leader and five grunts
or Thor Steinhammer
and Alexia Ciannor and the risen
So any advice or critiques?

Thor and forgeguard are a very solid choice. Risen probably arent that good of an option at low points as you will be very limited in the number of soul tokens you will be able to get. You will likely face some lists that will not give you a single soul token which will make Alexia fairly weak. Forgeguard on the other hand are durable front liners that hit very hard and you can not go wrong with them.

Out of curiosity, what contract are you running? Must be highborn correct? Unfortunately, Gorten will have a rough time running all those jacks. What are your restrictions on the slow grow league? Do you have to start with those four jacks?

You absolutely need Thor. Tune up is one of the best abilities out there. It definately helps given the severe lack of focus between the dwarf casters.

If you want to run Searforge, then your next choice should be a full unit of Forgeguard. Charging weapon masters with ranked attacks will wreck almost anything that isn't a colossal, and they will even put a hurting on that.

Thor with a Basher is nice, Forgeguard too, TAC are good as well if going Searforge.

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd

Unfortunately to get gorten I must take those four jacks and with more testing I have found the forgeguard to be allstars when they get into combat.
