So I painted up my Skaven Warlord and washed him with mostly black (Nuln Oil). Now it has always dried with a mostly matte finish but this time it is pretty much glossy everywhere. I am a bit upset because I feel like all of my painting was ruined because of the wash doing this. I am not sure what to do, is there a way to fix it without just repainting over everything, would rewashing it fix it at all?

Don't worry.

You should varnish all your models as a final step, to protect the finish from handling.

This will eliminate the differences by making everything gloss or matt according to what you choose.

Some washes, and inks especially, do dry glossy, but if you get the situation you've gotten, where it happens spontaneously, it is a clue that you didn't shake the wash thoroughly enough before applying it.

Not to worry though, as KK says, a coat of matt varnish and the problem disappears!

On a side note, I've found that washes tend to dry glossy if they dry in a cold environment. If your painting station is in a basement, or near a window, consider setting your models near a radiator or somehere warmer to dry.

Most any paint will dry glossy if it's cold, including matte varnish.

That also includes the ultra-matte paint they use on military aircraft. You don't get the matte varnish option on that one.
