I wanted to do a Death Company list. I know, unless I kill everything, I can't win. This would be a "fun" game army, not competitive or tourney... all for $366.50. Anyways, I saw this on gamesworkshop -

The Black Rage
In times of direst need, when the very survival of the Chapter rests on a bloody conflict, a disproportionate number of the Blood Angels' battle-brothers have been known to succumb to the Black Rage. Now, although this is an apoc formation, there is an actual 2k regular game army in there!

Its not really a one click collection. For that army to work in the slightest is goin to require many drop pods, requiring many more clicks ($). I've ran a DC army before. It is definitely fun. But you NEED pods.

If you're not going to run pods, get some transports like Razorbacks, Stormravens, and Land Raiders. Either way, Poly has the right of it, you need something to carry these exceedingly expensive troops.

I'm not really sure if this "one click collection" really is convenient; you can buy single item at local game store and maybe change somethint (like removing tycho) or get a better discount (it depends on local game store...)

however, as for "a DC only list", i'm not an huge fan of DC: everytime i used them they died horribly and got the feeling it's a really expensive ablative armor for reclusiarch/chaplain/whatever
so long, i'm curious of a DC only list, so i will look forward for a list to use, just for fun (and if "purge the xenos" ends up, could be not just for fun...)

I either table or lose when I have played this list (or a scaled up 2k/3k list). 2 wins, 3 losses with it. But the wins were against a footdar list with guardians, avatar, walkers, wraithlords etc and the other against an eldar-DA wraithguard/termi list. And that was before the latest eldar dex dropped, so not exactly top tier lists.

Trick was to not be scared of dropping the ravens into hover to get the charge.

The losses were against tesla destructors (necrons) wiping out the ravens and pretty much everything in them before they got the drop, new wave serpent eldar (just couldnt catch them) and ordinance heavy guard (28 bolter shots on turn one drop is laughable when there are russes around).

i was thinking about a more straightforward list based on LR DC:

- Astorath
- 10 bolter DC on LR
- 10 bolter DC + power sword on LRR with Astorath
- 8 bolter DC on pod + chaplain on terminator
- DC Dread with talon and flamer on pod
- DR Dread with talon and flamer on pod
1925 points total

Death company coming out of a LR are pretty lethal, especially when run alongside an assault termi LR... the opponent doesn't know which one to shoot!

I mean if you like the list get it. But id buy from a discount retailer. Buy astrorath, lemartes and like 4 dc and add the ravens
Still pretty spendy. You can even go s cheaper route by tactical marine and kit bash with a box of dc.

You'd need to drop an HQ. If that's 2k points...you're in trouble. You need drop pods, as others say, as well as a huge blob of cheap DC, and just more bodies in general. Kitting out everyone to make them expensive is a mistake.
