I'm trying to make a resilient all-comers list for casual use, but with some future tournament potential. But as I've had some mixed results of late I was hoping to get some pointers on how to improve my game with this list or a reasonably similar one. I usually play against Eldar, Tau and Necrons, with especially Eldar and their Waveserpents and Wraithknights giving me some real trouble. If someone wouldn't mind looking over my list and giving me some pointers, I would really appreciate it.

I use Raven Guard Chapter Tactics to scout my Razorbacks ahead if I go first or Outflank them if I go second. Their job is basically to move and shoot, with the tacticals aiming for his objectives and eventually Linebreaker. The Land Raider is supposed to protect the Centurions and the Librarian who goes with them from the first volley of fire, then disembarking them into range of the opponent on my first turn. The plan is then that my Assault Terminators, who will deploy on the field beside the Land Raider as they are better at weathering fire, will then hot-swap into the Land Raider on the turn that the Centurions unload.

Of course, I have pretty good range with most of my units and could just sit in my backfield for a turn or two, shooting my lascannons, before I move up. That's the plan if I Outfalnk my Razorbacks, in any case. The Predator is there to aid the Land Raider in the anti-armor department, and hopefully I will pop something nice on the first turn. The Centurions and the Land Speeders will primarily deal with hordes and MC's, but are pretty versatile. Scouts camp on an objective and stay alive. Stormtalons are primarily on anti-air duty, with anti-armor/MC as secondary.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

I'd free up some points to give the centurions missiles; they extend the wound pool for the grav cannons so you can kill entire squads even if youre barely in range with them. I'd ditch the ranged weapons entirely on the scouts since theres the temptation to have them in a position where they can shoot and therefor be seen. Other than that your list seems pretty solid though Id like to know what psychic discipline youre going to use.

Move the landraider so its now a dedicated transport for the termies next. I'd recommend dropping the cenutrians and picking up two thunder fire cannons as they kill everything. Personally I'd also drop the predator and take a third thunder fire but ymmv. I have had three thunderfire in two turns kill three wave servants two direavenger squads and 3 of the jetbikes

Thank you both for your thoughts and advice!

I plan on using Telepathy for Invisibilityand Psychic Shriek, as they will be targeting MC's and weathering a lot of fire. Besides that Gate of Infinity is also nice.

wpago, two Thunderfire Cannons are tempting, but if I do that then I feel need more lascannons somewhere else, say on the Razorbacks, and that would mean my outflank will get weaker. But then again, to answer both of your concerns I COULD remove a landspeeder, change to Las/missile Dev. Centurions. as well as remove a predator for two Thunderfire Cannons (which I don't have btw.). But I really have a sweet spot for the Grav Centurions as they can kill a Wraithknight in one turn of shooting. I also get less armor saturation this way, which is bad for my Razorbacks.

A tough cookie. What do you guys think?

I like the idea of the outflanking razorbacks, but if you're using Raven Guard, wouldn't it be more effective to dump 40 tac marines on their door turn 1 from rhinos? I think that outs you in multimelta range too.. That could be something to think about. What targets do the assault cannons usually fire at? If it's infantry, you may have better luck with tons of tac marines.. Not sure though.

As for the thunderfire comment, they are wonderful for cracking transports and vehicles at side armor, and insta-killing T3 characters... I'd take 2 whenever you can. To deal with Wraithknights, you either want to use your cents or termies but shouldn't need both. I'd pick one and turn the other into TFCs. You shouldn't expect your whole army to be able to deal with those high toughness creatures, but have a specialized unit for it.

As for the Centurions, have you considered a storm raven instead of landraider? If running the raider though, I'd recommend the redeemer (still holds 12) because AP3 flamers are gross.

I'd drop the missile launcher from the scouts.. Their BS being 3 makes it really unreliable. I'd say it's almost worth it to drop them in a speeder with Bolters for 15 points more...

The last thing I'd say is for anti-armor... If you do scout up 4-5 rhinos of tac marines, give them multi meltas or melta guns and bombs so that whatever vehicles you can't pop you can charge maybe next turn?

Just some thoughts, let us know how it goes!

I'd never replace the grav cannons with lascannons on the centurions, theyre massive area denial right now and shred any thing that does get in that range
