So after my LONG hiatus from the modeling and painting world I have attempted a shot at NMM silver for the first time in years.

There are many flaws and I have sooo many kinks to work out yet, especially with smoothing my blends.

I use two brushes. I wet blend some areas and dry "Feather" blend others.

Criticism would help me out a lot!

I started paint on the scratch build too. I will post pics later. Looks pretty good for a chop shop model.

It looks good I too am working out nmm and it sure is fun!! It looks good i say but its hard to tell with nothing else around it in the picture. I think you could go a little darker and a little lighter...but again it looks pretty strong! Now lets see a full model please

Built a quick little photo box. Used to have a good one back in the day. built this in about 20 minutes.

Just kind of showing a "boredom" work in progress, along with testing the pictures.

I have to find the right white balance yet, and probably add another light, (light on both sides, not top)

Here is a terminator Captain that I have started progress on. Shout out to TWOHOESVANS for hooking me up with the model!

I tried to get the gradients in color with the pictures, but it doesnt show all that well.

Been using the dry/wet brush technique, dual Brushes!

Please leave some feedback!

Nice work on that Terminator Captain. And the Admech Lascannon Spider thingy is really nifty

I can relate to the whole 'picking up the hobby again' bit. I will go on hiatus for months at a time and get back into it. Usually hits hard when I do ^^

Keep at it

Thanks!

Yea the hiatus really set me back. I just financially couldnt keep up with some of the price increases

Now im going to do smaller amounts at a time

single figures and one squad or vehicle at a time

I really like the spider mech! The terminator captain is also coming along nicely. The spidery thing could use a little weathering in my opinion, but the design and execution is spot on. Great job.

The spider turned out better than I expected. Used a ton of 1/35 scale tank parts to make him. Luckily I had a little bit on stuff left. Im thinking of making an adeptus servant to "control" it remotely

Another quick mini. Basic colors. Again pictures dont pick up the color transitions.

Love this old school model.

This stuff is real good.
A tip from someone getting into nmm myself, try using light washes on the 'dark' end of the blade, it adds depth to the shading.
But don't change anything else!

Your stuff looks pretty good but your pics are no good:( it's really hard to see anything like blending or even details. I'd prefer to see an over zoomed iPhone pic (like mine lol) than attempts at camera photography if I'm to see your current state of mini painting just FYI
Still looking Frwd to more!

Thanks guys.

I really do need to get the hang of picture taking. I have always had issues with it.

Im hoping that I can figure out a way to set up a good lighting system.

Here is the OOP captain,

Basically almost done, a few washes on the hair, touch ups here and there. and the red wiring in the back and he should be good to go!

A few touch ups and cleaning some blends and he will be good to go!

I kind of painted myself into a corner with the sword on his belt and the hair. I am having trouble finding a good contrasting color to accent it.

I am fairly happy with the outcome of the past two minis, after my long hiatus.

I wish my painting moved along this nicely. Gotta stop getting distracted by my conversion addiction

Everything looks great. Nice clean edges and effective highlights and shading. Keep at it

FINALLY!!!

Start on a higher end model!!

Had to do far too much trimming. Mold lines were awful and some ran straight through the eagle on his chest. Not good, but I think he is coming along well!!

I have been waiting to get my brush on this guy for a long while!

I am waiting on paint retarder to finish up some wet blends on the armor, basically of pure white.

The shoulder I think I will be doing some freehand work on, not sure of a pattern just yet.

THANKS FOR LOOKING!

Oh and the metallic is just laying in base color with a few washes. I need to go through all of the metallics again but with highlights and shadowing and what not.
