One of the best ways to get a break from the daily grind is to read web comics.

Here are some that I enjoyed that sadly have been abandoned by their creators and live on thanks to cheap bandwidth and storage.

Now you can enjoy them from the beginning knowing you will not have to wait tantalised for the next episode, because there won't be one.

Alien Loves Predator
The daily life of an Alien and a Predator as flatmates in modern New York.
http://alienlovespredator.com/

Gorgeous Princess Creamy Beamy
Anime influenced comedy about an alien princess with amazing superpowers.
http://creamybeamy.comicgenesis.com/

Maxwell The Demon
He is an executive in Hell, dealing with a range of accountancy problems.

Muertitos
Dead children’s souls get resurrected as various fantasy-horror creatures on a distant alien planet where they have to go to high school.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

If you want to read one that's still going on I highly recommend Girl Genius. Alternatively Buck Godot is by the same author and has stopped its production run (I honestly think the writers of Mass Effect had read Buck Godot at some point. One of the chapters is set on-board a carbon copy of the citadel, right down to various semi-spoiler plot elements).

Just keep in mind the author draws adult comic books as well, so you can see that sometimes in his style (not ever NSFW, but you can see some times where he had to reign himself in). Also don't go poking around too far in his online store...

Like watching other people play video games (badly) while blathering about nothing in particular? Check out my Youtube channel: joemamaUSA!

I'll have to read these when I have some spare time.

Here's another I can contribute. Good story and some pretty good artwork.

I loved AvP. I met the artist at ICON a few years back. Pretty nice guy.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

If you think your important, in the great scheme of things. Do the water test.

Put your hands in a bucket of warm water,
then pull them out fast. The size of the hole shows how important you are.
I think we should roll some dice, to see if we should roll some dice, To decide if all this dice rolling is good for the game.

Take a look for Concerned, which was surprisingly good for it's format: a comic about a tragically named NPC, Gordon Frohman, in Half Life 2. I know it still lives on but can't get a link here at work.

Well then, Concerned was a little funny as well as being dead.

Everyone in the tech support industry is probably familiar with that one. A few years back, I think the creator suffered from losing two close family members almost one right after the other, and took an extended hiatus that has continued to this day. However, there are still years of content to read (it was a daily strip).

"Through the darkness of future past, the magician longs to see.
One chants out between two worlds: Fire, walk with me."
- Twin Peaks
"You listen to me. While I will admit to a certain cynicism, the fact is that I am a naysayer and hatchetman in the fight against violence. I pride myself in taking a punch and I'll gladly take another because I choose to live my life in the company of Gandhi and King. My concerns are global. I reject absolutely revenge, aggression, and retaliation. The foundation of such a method... is love. I love you Sheriff Truman." - Twin Peaks
