im looking for some advice on what to use to represent the Swooping hawks Lasblasters in short.
Basically, ive just started up my second modelling project a harlequin stylised
DE/E force, using components from both armies to create a blended and more sinister harlequin feel. I love swooping hawks, well, the idea of swooping hawks. Not much love for the
GW models
tbh 
Love the scourge models on the otherhand... but considering how generally swooping hawks are far superior to there evil twinsI want to run hawks. So obvious answer has been use the scourge kit and model some hawks.
Id love to show a pic of what ive created so far of my first prototype hawk and a warp spider ive kitbashed, but its hammering down with rain and my models are in the garage
Im rather stuck on what weapons to use. the hawks body and legs are using the scourge kit, along with the feathered wings. Head wise its still a toss up between a couple daemonette heads and the wych elves masked heads. But I dont know what to use for lasblasters. I dont want to use the splinter rifles as I feel they are quite short and i always invision the hawks carrying reasonably larger rifles. I have access to all the
DE weaponry. So far, the most practical i can think of is using a shard carbine. Its slightly longer and larger in barrel. I think the splinter cannon is a little too large and makes the hawks look over burdened. I also really enjoy the looks of both the heat lance and haywire blaster, but obviously in terms of usage they are sort of the other end of the spectrum (melta and both anti-tank) compared with the low power assault 3 lasblasters.
any advice or recommendations?
