Hello dakka Im a fairly novice painter and Im looking for your help. I am starting an ork army. I had an ork army awhile ago and it was good old traditional green. This time I was looking to try something new. I want to try a purple skin tone. I imagine it looking a little more grey and toned down, so it looks realistic, but sill pretty purple. I was thinking about starting with some Citadel paints and looking to the paint scheme they use for Dark Eldar and Demonettes, but I want to make sure I retain the purple color. Im asking Dakka for a few suggestions on the following:
1. What colors would you suggest to create a realistic purple skin color. Im not sure what highlight to use.
2. Do you think using Grey scale would achieve this affect? Using a grey or white primer then using washes?
Thanks for any advice and help! Also any links or pictures to other things painted purple would be awesome!

I know you've asked for Citadel colours, but Reaper do a triad for Dark Elf Skin which sounds to be tailor made for what you're asking.
The triads, if you're unfamiliar, are a base, shade and highlight specifically selected to work together for a certain job.
The DE skin one is a muted greyish one with a purple tint, which is very much in the ball park of what you seem to be after (there's a few others too, some for flesh tones, some just for a specific sort of colour which may work better for you if not)
Can't hurt to jump in to reaper's site and check it out?
