HQ
Typhus
Troops
Plague marines x5, plasma guns x2, rhino
Plague marines x5, rhino
Zombies x18
Zombies x18
Fast Attack
Heldrake
Heavy Support
Obliterators x3, Nurgle
Deep strike Helbrute Formation
Helbrute, multi melta, powerfist w/ Heavy flamer
Helbrute, Plasmacannon, powerfist w/ Heavy flamer
Helbrute, Missle Launcher, powerfist w/ Heavy flamer
A kind of deep strike list I am thinking of. PMs and zombies start on table. Oblits+typhus deepstrike in, 3 oblits deepstrike in, heldrake does the heldrake thing it does. PM squad with no special weapons will line up to take a midfield objective (if there is one), while the other moves up for apply pressure with the following deepstrikes.

Why do you have an all bolter plague squad?
Your not going to like this but, drop Typhus. He isn't cost effective to begin with and your just handicapping yourself at 1500. Bring a Nurgle Lord with Pfist/LClaw, Sigil. Use the remaining points to buy an aegis with quad gun. You'll have AA and become instantly more competitive. You don't need zombies. Just have your cultists hold the control point in your base behind the aegis. I'd take a great cover save over 4 toughness with a five up.
Automatically Appended Next Post: shave a couple cultists and bring double plasma on both plagues.

Plague Marines should always take 2 special weapons or they are really bad for the points. Terrible even.
Helbrutes should be kept cheap as possible since they are so random. Think of it this way. You have to roll for reserves. You have to roll for Deepstrike: hope they dont die. Roll for crazed every turn: hope it works out. Every time they take a pen: hope the enemy roll doesnt intsant kill them.
That said the basic Melta/Fist setup seems great and just add on a Heavy Flamer or Combi-bolter. This is as much to add some extra punch as to protect the Melta & Fist from being blown off on a pen. Its a solid looking formation though, and looks worth using.
Typhus probably isnt great, but I dont know personally. I havent used him yet because he seems 50-70pts over priced in a game dominated by the shooting phase. He is really darn cool though. However if you are going to use him make sure you build in a way to guarantee he gets into assault range asap or at least pretty safe. The only real options though are the sort of over-priced Landraider or a massive horde of Zombies to join, but make sure to abandon them when you dont want to use average toughness of 3 on Typhus.
One thing though, can Typhus mix with the Helbrute + Cultist formation? If so that could be pretty potent in adding some bite to Zombies. Though again I dont know.

Just in case you haven't seen the Errata/FAQ, helbrutes are 100 pts, and my favourite way to run them is 2 powerfists.

I am not sure about that formation but it would be interesting.
He would be in combat the turn he arrives from deep strike with the oblits, if they all come in the same time as the helbrutes it should be enough threats to let him live, plus he's tough as nails.
Thanks for the advice everyone. I've actually changed the helbrutes around, 2 have scorge flail instead of powerfist and one has plasma cannon.

Typhus cant assault the turn he uses deep strike and has a weak ranged presence as nurgle powers are very middling. His Warp charges are best used to Instant Death big targets. Anyway, if you dont make those first two reserve rolls he might not be even swinging that weapon until the 4th Turn maybe even 5th. Thats bad. Really bad. And thats why I never end up able to use him myself.
Also as a note Typhus is pretty tough. But not all that tough. He doesnt have Eternal Warrior so all Force Weapons (hey Grey Knights...) and Str 10 can instant kill him. A Nurgle Biker Lord is probably just as hard to kill. Possibly harder but I dont know the math of extra toughness vs FNP.
Still im talking down on the big Typhus. And I dont want to. He seems really neat but just overpriced. I might just bite the point bullet and use him this weekend myself.
Power Scourges arent worth the points and Plasma Cannon isnt needed since you have Obliterators. But thats entirely my opinion. Hope your army works out

Dropping Typhus, reducing helbrute kits, and maybe splitting the oblits & possibly removing one would make room for a lord on bike with a squad of bikers. Nurgle biker lords are Papa Nurgle's gift to you.

The problem with typhus is his weapon is unweildy, which means even in combat he still struggles. His only real benefit is plague zombies who honestly should also be available to any nurgle lord really

Tried a similar list against some DE.
Basically, my zombies tarpitted on turn 2 to stop being table, (nothing came in), then the rest of the turns were oblits killing a transport a turn and the helbrutes chasing things around the field, killed a few things still. Most useful a helbrute has ever been to me to be honest.
