I bought a bottle of this stuff to quick base my Chaos Space Marine army and read online that the bases should be painted first, since the cracks appear over it so you see the underneath color. My list is a Nurgle themed list, so my question is: What color would look good for the base before applying the Agrellan Earth?

A Nurgle Neon Green ooze glow?
A Bright Orange lava-like?
Black and normal?
Brown and earthy?

The army is primarily Green, brown, and rusted to begin with.

I would love some insight, before I go and make a bad decision on this. Never based anything yet!

I'd try black or the green personally, as a side note it works REALLY well if you texture a bit befor eputting it on with either a little sand glued in or some texture paint, makes it crack a lot more.

Okay cool, looks like I'll finally have a use for all that sand grit I bought years ago!

I'll try a Moot Green on the base and the Agrellan Earth over it.

Here's one i prepared earlier just mucked around with some purple, green and yellow under it for ruinous tainted energies cracking the ground around my helbrutes and lord ... hope this gives you an idea of what it will look like... i also textured mine a little with some glue and sand to make it have some higher and lower points
