Hiya,
New player here, I got into the game because everyone else I know locally plays so I figured I’d give it a go, and since I already do table top RPGs and larp I figured I might as well collect the set of gaming hobbies. Currently I’m only playing 40k, and I’ve got an Imperial Guard army that I’m pretty pleased with. I stumbled across the forums while checking out the rumours about the new codex, I can’t wait to see what the turn out like and how it will affect my game.
I love integrating old models and new into an army, and making objective markers, so that’s my current interests. That, and getting hammered by my mate’s Marines. Other than him and the ‘Nids I’m generally holding my own though.

I'm the same with my Guard.
Boxes of stuff I got cheap, but I can't build it if it's different.
It does mean you get to get the hang of magnets, if you're going that way.

That's true, I'd not really thought about doing that. I've inherited a steel legion army and a cadian/catachan/esher army, so that's generally what I'm working with. My case weighs a ton, I've got a horde army that's around 95% metal!
