Recently, my local meta shifted from 2000 point tourneys to 1850 points, in order to avoid some FoC abuse. While I can understand the reasoning behind this decision, it really screwed up my previous list. I wanted to post 2 lists and see if I could trim points anywhere and improve the list.
Tourney List: 1845 pts
HQ:
2 Flyrants
Troops:
4 broods of 30 Termagants
Elites:
3 Zoanthropes
2 Venomthropes (separate broods)
Heavies:
2 Tyrannofexes with Rupture Cannons
Trygon Prime with Miasma Cannon
This is a pretty straightforward tourney list. Tyrannofexes take out any armor the first turns, while they walk up surrounded by Terms. The zoanthropes provide synapse as the flyrants fly up, while the venomthropes do their thing. Trygon pops up and does distraction/damage. I played a similar version of this list last week. It was very close, but I eventually lost in the end due to mass sternguard poison and ignore cover. I had trouble with my synapse getting shot off mid-game though, so I added another zoanthrope to the brood.
Walker List: 1845 pts
HQ:
Tyrant with Lash whip/bonesword, desiccator larvae, and toxin sacs
3 Tyrant guard
Troops:
2 broods of 30 Termagants
2 Tervigons with desiccator larvae and regen
Elites:
2 Venomthropes (separate broods)
Heavies:
3 Trygon Primes
This list is a bit different from the normal tourney list. Tyrgons pop up turns 2 and 3 to apply fire where needed and soak up damage as the rest of the army advances. The tervs spawn termagants to take objectives, while venoms provide cover to everything. This list focuses on just massed bodies and covering the objectives in troops. The MCs provide nice bullet sponges and can take out vehicles, while the tyrant will focus on any assault unit that would give me problems. I have no anti-flier, but I'm not really worried about that. I'll focus on taking objectives and let the fliers shoot. I am a bit worried about using the tervs, especially with the new synaptic backlash rule and the random spawning. I've only used tervs once, and both of them only spawned on turn 1, with a 1,1,4 and a 4,3,4.
Criticisms and advice would be appreciated. I would like to run the second list for some tourneys in order to mix up the meta. What can I do to improve both of these?

Walking slow big bugs in a tourney just isnt going to work. Two flyrants are fine but its disconnected from the rest of your list.
If you go in with low expectations then great. Your second list has absolutely no punch whatsoever and basically allows gun lines to wipe the floor with your slow movers even with Trygons (hopefully) popping up.

Trying not to rain on the parade....but  If you are going with Walk'rant, you almost have to carry a Cannon. it can be a Miasma, if you are already built without one. I just don't see a Walk'rant being "good enough", but if you insist, he can fire two weapons and move, so a Cannon, and a Hive is pretty good....
Personally I'd toss one of your Tervs and spend the points else where. At your point level I'd be nervous spending points on Regen, you're just more likely to lose the Big Bug before you heal even a single point back.
You can split the second "Terv Tax" Brood into 2x, x15 for more tactical options....
This gives you a small boat load of points to spend on something "Kew-al"  (Like maybe a Winged Dakka'rant for anti air duties?)
