When it's so easy to smash one together outta bits you have laying around! I bought one resin reactor bit from some other company for like $15, glued it to a plastic box from the container store, and went nuts with a buncha GW bitz.

Haha, thanks. I do think the GW one is pretty goofy and too gigantic. Those things fit inside of titans and bunkers, man!

Well a viodsheild geni according to the book has battlements, so models need to be able to stand on top..... Other then that I agree.

The GW had a baroque elagance, this is much more generic. Still fits the part though.

Most of the bulk of the official armor is due to armor, I think. The Void Shield generator has battlements and is something like AV13. The actual generator would be much smaller. There's also the fact that you can have 3 shields per generator.
